Bond car plunges into Lake Garda
A stunt driver has crashed the car used by movie secret agent James Bond into Italy's Lake Garda during filming of 007's latest movie, Quantum of Solace.
The driver was delivering the iconic Aston Martin DBS to the film scene in heavy rain when he lost control around one of the lake's narrow curves.
The driver was quickly rescued and taken to hospital with minor injuries.
Italian TV showed the car, reportedly the only one available for use in the film, being winched out of the lake.
Filming for the movie - starring Daniel Craig as the latest Bond - has already taken the crew to England, Panama, Chile and Mexico.
The newest film in the long-running 007 franchise is to be released later this year.

Daniel Craig imo is better than Pierce, though he plays a different kind of Bond (more rough -n- tough kick-yur-**** Bond compared to Pierce's smooth Bond).
I find it hard to believe they only have one DBS to work with in this film. I saw a picture of them filming Casino Royale and they had like four or five destroyed DBS' lined up in a row.

Peirce's Bond is the older bond. Daniel is playing Bond when he just got promoted to 007 status. so its a dramatic difference. Its something you never saw Bond do before

what casino royale did to the bond series is what Batman Begins did to the batman series. Totally did a turnaround on the series, and a hell of a good one that is. More serious, more realistic, more dark, and not cheesy like previous ones were. I definately recommend you go watch it.

Daniel Craig was very good, he does not exactly look like your typical bond character like the previous guys but I enjoyed his performance and I think he is going to make some good bond movies. Although I think Pierce Brosnan could have been a very good Bond, he unfortunately was not given very good scripts to work with and the films he was in were pretty generic action movies and did not really feel like Bond movies nor were they that good. Golden Eye was his best in my opinion but overall was not as good as most of the previous bond films and not as good as Casino Royale. I liked Timothy Dalton the best as Bond because I thought he was the best match as to what I thought a Bond character would be like as he was were more serious, cunning, smoother, etc but unfortunately with negotiating and some other issues he was only in 2 Bond films. Sean Connery was very good of course and Roger Moore was pretty good in some of the Bond films like For Your Eyes Only and Octo*****. If you have a Blue Ray player and a HD tv you definitely want to get Casino Royale as it looks excellent in Blueray and on a HD tv, the best I have seen so far.

Bond fan buys totaled Aston for $120k over list ...
Bond sells crashed car for a profit
Friday, October 10, 2008
• 007 turns used car salesman
• Gets £200,000 for £134,000 car
• The Aston Martin DBS had been destroyed in a crash, too
We all know James Bond is more than adept at neutralising international crooks, bedding beautiful women and drinking vodka Martinis – shaken not stirred, of course – but how does he fare as a used car salesman?
Perhaps inevitably, for a man who seems to have it all, the answer's pretty well.
The Aston Martin DBS that crashed into Lake Garda while on the way to the film set of the new Bond film Quantum of Solace has been sold – for more than its asking price when it was in pristine, pre-Bond condition.
The car was destroyed when it crashed off a damp mountain road near Lake Garda, Italy.
The smash was so severe that the car's driver, an Aston Martin development engineer, was knocked unconscious and sank 150 feet to the bottom of the lake, before freeing himself and swimming to the surface. Remarkably, he was virtually uninjured.
The film’s star, Daniel Craig, has revealed that a Bond collector paid more than £200,000 for the scrap metal, despite a DBS only costing £134,000 new.
