Selling your house to pay off your car is a little bass-ackwards.

Though avoiding repo, of course, is one possibility, there may be other reasons why he is not parking it on his own driveway. You say he takes good care of his car. Is there a big tree over his driveway? This time of year, many trees really make a mess with their pollen and shedding. Woe to anything parked under them.

My ex had a car she didn't pay for. Long story and part of why she's an ex. It ended by driving the car to the bank, handing them the keys, and giving them back a pristine '89 MR2SC she should never have bought in the first place. It's the right thing to do.

Most performance mods need a watch and timed course to demonstrate actual improvement. Few deliver the advertised claims. Many are actually worse than stock. The best performance mods are made to the driver.

You and her let a car end your marriage? Well, not to be nosy, but I guess that's your buisness. I won't say any more.

They should repo his car. He doesn't own it. The bank does.

Well they never did. He was able to elude the repo men and get himself caught up. I guess he ran into a few bumps on the road and now is okay.I'm glad for him though.

I'm glad for him, too. but that shows the extreme importance of reading the contract you're signing and making sure you can afford it. That's how a lot of people got into trouble with sub-prime mortgages......by not reading and understanding the contract and its terms.

That's why I won't buy a car unless I can afford buy it outright, with no financing. But, of course, most of the time, that is not possible with a house.

I'm guessing your neighbor doesn't have a closed garage because if he really wanted to avoid repo without paying or at least delay the repo, parking on the public street would be the last thing he should do. I don't know all the different states' statutes/regulations regarding repo, but generally speaking, they cannot seize a car that is parked in a closed/private garage.

Her son has a 97 ES and she has a LS. My nephew told me last week he saw a man with a clipboard of papers standing next to his car. The man was comparing his notes to the my nephew's car. So it looked like the man with the clipboard initially thought my nephews' car was the one on his list. We put two and two together and we think that the owner of the '06 ES is trying to avoid the repo man. When I came home from work on Friday, I saw him just getting out of his car and walking down the street to his home. Of course his driveway was empty. If what I think is true then it'll be messed up if his ride is taken from him. He keeps his car clean all the time and appears to be well maintained.
