BMW of Lincoln refuses to honor EBAY auction winner
Apparently, someone bids 60K on a FULLY LOADED M3 sedan knowing that he will get outbid. However, he wins the auction, and the BMW dealership is refusing to sell the car at the winning auction price. Link here: http://www.m3post.com/forums/showthread.php?t=127993

That is poor business against BMW of Lincoln. They will have to break a contract (which will take $$ if the bidder decides to go to court), and it's better to make ONE person happy instead of A LOT of people UNhappy.
If they were smart, they should have had a Reserve Price...

The dealer is at fault. They didn't set a reserve price. Too bad, so sad.

Most people are afraid of the impulse-bidding commitment (both the buyer and the seller) and are worried about financial transactions online (enen though the dealership will most likely provide the financing). Only well-versed eBay buyers know what they're doing, and perhaps the winner of the auction knew exactly what he was doing...
