A formal comparison probably wouldn't turn up much. The two vehicles are almost identical. The main difference is the LX570's height-adjustable suspension and a little more wood inside. The raised-suspension is most useful off-road, and there aren't many places to do that in the area I live in.

A head to head Lexus LX570 vs TOYOTA Sequoia Platinum is a worthwhile comparo.

Toyota Sequoia Platinum uses the first gen TEMS suspension from the 1998-2007 LX/LC suvs. The new LX570 suspension is a second gen design.

Both are designed to haul people around in comfort. The Toyota does in with space and size while the Lexus does it with things like air vents, 4zone, leather and refinement

LX570 vs Land Cruiser is not worth it....but I would read it word for word anyway.

That's what I thought the poster was refering to.........a Land-Cruiser/LX570 comparison. That, I agree, would probably be redundant.

A Land Cruiser/Sequoia comparo, though, would probably serve about the same purpose as an LX570/Sequoia. I don't see where it would make much difference in that case, either.

Sorry to bump an old thread, but what is happening in regards to the future of the Sequoia?

Will there even be a 2015 model and if so, will it be updated in a similar fashion to the '14 Tundra?

Toyota themselves is being tight-lipped about it, and is not formally releasing information on 2015 models until August (a few more days).

But here's a site that may have some clues..................

i wouldn't believe anything written in sites like that. It's just a mix of what people put in search engines and some other garbage. Very misleading info.

That's why said it may (?) have some clues....not definite. In a couple of weeks we'll know more from Toyota themselves.

In the meantime, you also might try PM'img Ryan (flipside909). He has close Toyota/Lexus contacts in SoCal, and often gets the scoop before the rest of us.

Sadly, no planned Sequoia updates. Since it is made in Indiana, and not Texas, it has its own separate tooling and supplier stream that didn't have to be updated when the Tundra got updated.

Do you have a credible source for that? (I'm not implying that you don't.....just asking). Toyota themselves is still being mum about it, right on the very doorstep of the start of the 2015 model year.

And what little Toyota HAS told us about it so far is that, if it is carried forward next year at all, it would remain on the Tundra's truck-frame, not switch to unibody.

Being as I worked directly in Toyota product planning/strategy, and still work deeply entrenched in the automotive industry, I think I would know a few things.

Sequoia is not changing for 2015. It is staying the same.

You are correct, no major updates for 2015.

Toyota did not upgrade the Sequoia interior with the Tundra, the Sequoia is a dying segment for Toyota.

There were some minor changes to the Sequoia for 2014 that coincided with the Tundra. The mirror fins were upgraded along with the mirror units when the Tundra changed. You have to look very carefully, there are a few changes but they are so minor.

yep, it is informed guessing, like what some people here could do... some things might be correct, some are guesses and some are plainly wrong.
