Way to drink and destroy your dad's BMW and your four buddies, too. Very sad.

Did anyone else notice that investigators did not rule out the possibility of racing, according to a TV report I saw earlier? Also, from the article bitkahuna posted:

George Borger, who lives next to the airstrip, said he awoke to the sound of car engines at about 3:30 a.m. Saturday.

"I saw them going up and down the runway," he said. "They were flying."
He said car engines. And when he said them, did he mean the five kids, or more than one car?

Honestly why doesn't car companies, test for freak accidents like this

At least we know cars can fly now lol

I can't wait to hear how much each family will be suing the owner of that BMW. Plus I wonder how many idiots will be like cut down all the trees because of this incident.

Huh? What do you mean, it's BMW's fault they died?

Why should they test for an accident like this? Should they also test for driving off a cliff too?

Plus I wonder how many idiots will be like cut down all the trees because of this incident.
lol - well without those trees that BMW may have ended up in someone's HOME.

A loaded 550i can reach $80K ... A M5 starts at $83K ... or it could be a 7-series too ...

Looks like M5 Wheels in the video. It's tragic but it's Darwin's theory at work.

sure why not.

in the US, they can sue for any reason.

****, i remember someone was sueing Apple because the volume was to loud on the iPods because the idiot kept the volume at max. I am going with that mentality that, someone wants to blame someone else because they aren't smart enough to know they are the one causing the problem.

this isn't so much a problem of the car...

they were simple going way too fast up an incline--and downforce or not, it's going to fly!

google maps showing the incline..

http://maps.google.com/maps?f=q&hl=e...&t=h&z=17&om=0

they also said it's elevated about 80-85 feet off the rest of the field.... so even if they weren't "flying" they were in the air for quite some time...

I still wonder how much damage could have happened, if they did not hit the tree.

They would have all died still. A car went off the overhead freeway while racing in my area and it is nowhere near 80-85ft up. At least I don't think it is that high. Maybe 60 ft. Anyway, the car split in half at the firewall and the driver still died. he was DOA.

as sad as it is, and as much as we'd like to see things like this not happen..imagine what a car would look like if it were beefed up to take a side impact crash that wouldnt split the car...ill pass..
