Default go build your own 135i at BMWUSA.COM...over $42k with prem + sports pkg and NO NAV

that's with no heated seats, no hd radio, no ipod integ, no park sensors, no prem radio, no sat radio

does include automatic ($1275)

and I don't think 18"...not sure about that tho.

as others have said.....way too close to 3 series pricing.

oops. maybe this won't sell so well.

more expensive than a 328 coupe, which i'd get over this, even if it is slower

I'm sure that the price will be lowered...A 1 series isnt going to only be 18 less than an M3 Sedan...

I can get a much better looking Civic EX WITH NAV for around $21K.

The new Corolla will also have available NAV for around $20K.

Thanks but no thanks BMW.

I dont think its base price is worth it. Seems like a pointless car to me.

Wow it is seriously overpriced. Wow I could get both Mazda 3 and Honda Civic Si for that money. Yeah 328i would be a much clever choice in my opinion, for a few grands less.

I think the pricing is excellent

$36,150 (base)
Alpine white

+1450 leather
+1000 sport package
+500 heated seats
+2100 navigation (no need for digital compass)
+875 premium audio
------------------
total: $41,600

if you want to listen to an ipod, XM
want metallica paint
an automatic
power seats
comfort access

then yes the car suddenly becomes a huge ripoff.
to me all those features are totally worthless. But for $41,600 you should definetly get a backup camera
which is unavailable.

A similar 335Ci (w/o the 4piston calipers) goes for $46,725 or an additional $5,125. That car is absolutely not worth the money.

Over 40K for this plain, ugly, small, entry level car, no thanks. There are so many much better cars for so much less. Wasn't this car supposed to be an "affordable" entry level model for BMW for younger buyers because the 3 series was getting so expensive. I am not surprised at all that it is way overpriced being that it is a BMW and all their cars are way overpriced. As long as the magazines love it then it will sell in droves because of the BMW badge no matter how overpriced it is. Yes, I would definitely laugh if one of my friends bought one and paid over 40K for one, I don't care how well it handles or how fast it is. I would not even pay 30K for it. I have always liked most BMWs up until the bangle designs but they are just way too much for what you get. It does not cost a bunch of money to make your car handle well and offer decent driver feedback but that is what you are mainly paying extra for with a BMW.

You guys crack me up Enthusiasts who can afford it, and want the BMW experience, will buy them. To compare this car with the Mazda 3's and Hyundai's is laughable. You guys talk about build quality...Take a look here and tell me if Mazda and others are this meticulous in build. http://youtube.com/watch?v=yP5gdHQALP4

6 piston calipers up front (not 4 pot), proven chassis, engines, ability to have one built to your liking, all speaks volumes.. The reincarnation of the BMW 2002 is coming soon.

Question: Can any of the other cars mentioned be built to your liking? Any Lexus models in the mix??
