Faster Than A Veyron? Fastest Car In The World?
http://www.motorauthority.com/news/s...mosler-mt900s/
Holy ****** man ...
"The mid-engined MT900S runs a Corvette Z06-derived LS6 V8 and weighs just 2,500lbs. To put this in perspective, the Nelson Racing Mosler MT900S produces 800hp more than the Bugatti Veyron and weighs 1,630lbs less."

i got this off a website (http://www.automotoportal.com/articl...s_Fastest_Cars)
" the best speed test proved to be the time needed for a car to accelerate from the standing start to 100 miles per hour (160km/h), and then to stop immediately. Such measurement enables an ideal ratio of necessary performance which characterizes a car as the fastest one. "
1. Ultima GTR 9.4 secs
Less than a two months ago a small British car company represented its version of ultimate race car for the road drive based on Chevrolet V8 engine which provides 730 hp and entered the Guinness Book of World Records beating the Veyron’s time by five hundredths of a second. 720 GTR scorches from 0 to 60 mph in 2.6 seconds, from 0 to 100 mph in 5.3 seconds, and brakes to 0 in 3.6 seconds (not including drivers reaction time). No traction control devices or ABS braking aids were used.
-I know it is a different speed record, but still interesting.
For the Record, the Zonda is still on of my dream super cars.

Plus, these are all kit cars. If you get into an accident, you're screwed. Its not a production car, it gets tossed into the same category as drag cars: Get light chassis, put in big engine, and go fast.

No. Plenty of cars at the track that do that and as for street cars from the factory, GM had a Camaro ZL1 prototype back in like 1999 or something with a big block and it ran 1.9s 0-60 IIRC

yup.
A Veyron will do 250mph while coddling you with a cow and machine finished aluminum accents and a cushy seat and a health and safety approved chassis.

Mosler MT900S 'Red Devil' Confirms 1635 HP on the Dyno
July 18, 2008 2:00 AM
Owned by well known Corvette Guru and the only certified Mosler dealer in the United States, Mike Vietro (aka Corvette Mike), took his 7.0-liter LS7 equipped Mosler MT900S, nicknamed “Red Devil,” and its measly 550 horsepower to Nelson Racing Engines to engineer the ultimate motor.
After adding two turbos and a wave of the magic wand, dynamometer testing produced a staggering 1,635 horsepower and 1,481 lb-ft of torque at a relatively low 5,600 RPM. With output still jumping an average 70 horsepower every 100 rpm while maintaining stable oil pressure and temperature, the test was shut down at the request of the vehicle’s owner. However, according to Nelson Racing the engine is fully capable of reaching as much as 1800+ hp at 6200 rpm.
In the end, Nelson Racing Engines built an engine that makes horsepower in the low 1,000s with premium pump fuel at a lower boost setting, or fill the auxiliary tank with race gas and automatically switch to the high-boost setting for up to 1,800 horsepower.
“Fulfilling this unique request was not an easy task. We spent months perfecting this engine,” said Tom Nelson, owner of Nelson Racing Engines. “Ultimately all our hard work paid off and once completed this Mosler will be a one of a kind vehicle, unmatched in power and performance”.
Now the engine will undergo final tuning and installation. The Mosler MT900S Red Devil is expected to hit the track in a matter of weeks where it will undoubtedly set power and speed records.

Damn! That's insane power for any car, let alone a car that weighs in at just around 2500 lbs.
