Headlight and Taillight keep the same shape? Fail. Taillight is the weakest design element of the car.

I think with a change in the inside elements of the taillamp, it could still create a very different visual appearance. Like the aftermarket has done...

True, but at least give it a meaner looking taillight like they did with STI concept.

Scion Pairs Sports and Style for 2016 FR-S Release Series 2.0
Drivers of the 2016 Scion FR-S Release Series 2.0 will look better than ever in the most stylish version of the sports car ever offered. The new FR-S Release Series 2.0 comes with luxurious appointments and premium features, and with just 1,000 vehicles available, it’s the most elusive and exclusive Scion Release Series yet.

The interior creates the lap of luxury with heated seats in black Alcantara and leather with camel-colored accents. The same black and camel theme continues to the leather-trimmed steering wheel while the shift **** and parking brake lever are covered in black leather. Camel trim also appears on the door armrest and the upper door trim while the center armrest and knee pads are black. Camel accent stitching is prominent throughout the interior and embroidered on the dash insert is the release series badge, sequentially numbered from 1 to 1000.

Additional luxury features include Smart key with push-button start, dual-zone automatic climate control and HID headlamps with LED daylight running lamps.

On the outside, the Release Series 2.0 will make a statement with Lunar Storm paint and 17-inch forged alloy wheels. For added flair and distinction, a unique aero kit features spoilers on both the front lip and trunk.

“The FR-S is well known for being a fabulous sports car, and now we’re taking it up a notch in the luxury arena,” said Scion Vice President Andrew Gilleland. “It’s the perfect car to take from the race track during the day to the red carpet that evening.”

The 2016 FR-S Release Series 2.0 will come with either a six-speed manual transmission or a six-speed automatic transmission with paddle shifters and Dynamic Rev Management® technology. The manufacturer’s suggested retail price (MSRP) will be $29,510 for the manual transmission and $30,610 for the automatic transmission, excluding the delivery, processing and handling (DPH) fee of $795.

ust how close a lap time can a standard Toyota GT 86 get when it's up against its race-bred brother from Fensport?

Our man Steve Sutcliffe pits one of our favourite sports cars against a rival with quite an unfair advantage...

If you originally thought the Scion FR-S might be too sporty and not enough of a luxury offering from the Scion family, think again. The FR-S Release Series 2.0 is ready to change your perception, offering more premium/luxury features than ever before, and is a complete change of pace from the sportier/performance-minded Release Series 1.0 FR-S.

Scion-ara: The FR-S is Becoming the Toyota 86
http://www.autoguide.com/auto-news/2...toyota-86.html
When Scion officially folds and the FR-S becomes a Toyota model this summer in North America, the car will be known as the Toyota 86.

This was confirmed on Toyota’s own Driver Seat blog, where a caption of a photo of the FR-S reads, “the FR-S will become the Toyota 86 when it debuts this fall.” That photo is included in a blog post about Scion which discusses the brand’s legacy in the industry.

Currently, the sports car is sold as the Toyota 86 in Asia, South Africa, South America and Australia while it is sold as the GT 86 in Europe. It is also sold as the Subaru BRZ around the world, as Subaru and Toyota collaborated to create the car.

Nothing else is known about the new North American Toyota 86 at this time, though other updates and changes are likely coming to the revised car.

When Scion announced it was shutting down, it said that the FR-S, iA and iM would become Toyota models while the tC will be discontinued. New naming schemes for the iA and iM are unknown at this time.

The Scion brand will officially close its doors in August, 2016.
Good move, Toyota. JDM name.

This car is dead to me even if they resurrect it under the Toyota name. I would have considered it if it had more power..
