Default Costco Gas

Anyone putting Costco gas in their IS (Premium Gas of course)? Wondering because it's the cheapest around my area...$2.77/gal. I'm not sure where Costco gets their gas from, I just don't want to put cheapo gas in my car.

Only Shell or Chevron for me.

Pump those generic brand a few times and my god, you could feel the performance difference.

wow...that must be nice its on avg about $3.30/gal for premium here??? i think you can get around $3.10/gal at some places. i have tried all of them and see no difference i do all hwy travel so i burn it quickly at high speeds. i avg the same off each tank.

i think that Costco and other places simply buy from where they will get a good deal from. so what you get isnt consistant from them but i am sure if would be just fine.

I live in SoCal and have purchased Costco fuel in the past. I once asked the guy where it comes from and he said he only knows it comes from some wholesaler in Long Beach/LA and that it's from whoever is selling that day. Seldom do they get fuel from the same vendor two times in a row. I've not really had a problem with their gas but have experienced some rough idling at times... Since than I've found a Chevron station near by that matches Costco's price. No need to guess when I can get a known brand for the same price. When traveling I try for either Shell V1 or Chevron.

I've had a couple of friends that had bad experiences with Costco gas so I don't recommend it at all. All of them started hearing knocking noises after filling up with Costco gas. It wnet away after emptying they tank and refilling with Chevron or Shell. So from experience, I would say stay away.

I have yet to see 92 or higher octane grade in CA. I know there's one or two that sells 100 octane but not exactly sure where it's at.

I've had no problems with discount brand gas stations like Valero, Raceway and Racestar. Near work, we only have first tier stations, so I also buy lots of gas from Exxon and BP Amoco. I manually calculate fuel mileage after every fill-up, and have seen no difference in economy or performance between the cheaper and more expensive brands.
