I prefer most Toyota's over the majority of Lexus cars (based on my posts) this should be no surprise.
While I do think think the Lexus SUV's of LX/RX/GX are outstanding and class leading I strongly believe the LS/ES/IS/SC and GS leave a lot to be desired. IMO the Lexus cars are trying to hard.
I do think the LS430 was the best Lexus ever and maybe one of the better cars ever made in the world....but the current lineup was not up to the standard of the LS430.
I prefer the Avalon to the ES/GS...Land Cruiser over LX...but I do like GX over 4runner while Highlander better than RX...
Just my opinon....

Not even close. I'm an auto enthusiast, not a Lexus enthusiast. If I become a Lexus enthusiast, I automatically stop being the true car enthusiast that I want to be.
There are so many amazing cars out there, why restrict myself to Lexus? If Lexus has the best product, I'll buy that. But otherwise, it'll be something else.
Infact, right now, I can't even think of a single Lexus product that I want to buy other than the IS-F. But even then, I'd rather take something else for the money like the CTS-V.
IS - I'm buying 335
GS - I'm going A6 or Jaguar XF
ES - Are you kidding me?? I'd buy almost anything else.
RX - Are you kidding me even MORE?? Something as ugly as this will never find a spot in my garage. There are several other choices I'd pick over this product.
LX - Definitely a strong contender, only if it didn't look like a Toyota. I like the Range Rovers a lot more; however, I'd probably wind up with an LX for reliability. In this case, I desire something else, however reliability is forcing me to buy Lexus/Toyota. Infact, I'd probably wind up with the Toyota version.
SC - No way jose!
LS - Nope. I'd rather get S class.
That's pretty much the entire lineup and I don't see anything that I truly like. Lexus to me, will always be a marketing division of Toyota. And the products don't cease to be glorified Toyotas to me. The Europeans to me, in the luxury market, are by FAR the leaders in every sense - design, engineering, technology, powertrains, heritage etc. Lexus is a lot better at marketing though and so they've carved up the American public (not too difficult ). However, if the product itself is compelling enough, I'll buy a Lexus, just like I'd buy anything else. But otherwise, I see no added value in the Lexus badge at all. It has no meaning to me and could just as easily say Scion, another Toyota marketing division.

I probably do sound that way . But I LOVE my Lexus. It's reliable, fairly fast (hell, my GS4 kept up with a G35 coupe the other night), and still luxurious. BUT, it's not sporty enough for me and I ask too much out of my GS. If I could own like a S2000 and a GS, I think that'd be perfect.

I would probably be driving a BMW M3 sedan had pricing been a little more competitive and the DCT not been so problematic when first released. I love my IS F, but the M3 has been a car that I have lusted after ever since I was in high school and got to drive a buddy's '88 M3.
I'm also a huge Porsche fan and would have bought a used 997S over the F had I not needed the room for my kiddos.

it seems the only thing lexus has going for it is its reliability record, and soft leather seats.
but lexus is way way way behind on tech. all the germans are putting in Dual clutch manual automatics. lexus still has a dinky 6 speed.
even infiniti has passed it with a 7 speed and rev matching.
right now, it appears lexus is back at the stage of "glorified toyota".
even the exterior appearance says so.
lexus is in a position to fall over really quick. the whole line up is stale.
if they don't do something exciting with the cars that need a refresh, they will all be DOA.
if the next GX looks like a big bubbly RX, that = FAIL and no sales.
