To me the NSX IS Honda. It stands for everything Soichiro Honda stood for. If it came out as a Honda I wouldn't have minded at all. Same as the S2000. It needed to be a Honda. Those who understand understand. Those who don't don't. I'm proud that the NSX was built when Honda engineers where given the chance to build what they wanted and not what the new management think people want. I had all Honda badges including the Honda airbag on my NSX. When people used to ask me who makes my car I used to tell them Honda.

Thanks guys, And no this will not be my only car. I am looking for a weekend car.
The only thing im afraid of is hearing all the crap from people who hate honda's like there favorite saying "Its still a Honda" if I buy the NSX.
I used to own a 2000 S2000 when they first came out and I didnt hear then end of the crap and I got sick of it.

My take
Just traded my 02 sc-430 on a 91 belina black nsx. I drove a few 911's a 92 and a 99 and owned a 1972 911 years ago. loved my sc but had it 7 years and wanted a true sports car again, mid life thing. I always loved the looks of the nsx but never drove one,WOW! I have never been yhis connected with the rode. All aluminum body, frame, and supension this 91 looks new and drives the same way. not many to be found locally ,if you get a chance drive one! awesome car!

You can get a brand new C6 right now for a similar price that will destroy all these cars while still being under the factory warranty for several years and, naturally, coming with far more advanced technology overall.

Back to OP's questions, I'd pick the NSX. I am a wee bit biased though...

Since this topic is pretty old, I have bought a second NSX since I last posted this. Something about the NSX that just keeps bringing me back. As some has posted in here in the past you can get a lot newer cars with more tech and faster performance for the same price or a little more, but at least for me when searching for new sports cars nothing really has what the NSX gives you UNLESS you are willing to step up north of $100K. Now my 2nd NSX is for sale, and when this one sells guess what? I'm buying another one. Probably an 02+. This will be my last NSX so I'll make sure I get the color(s) I want.

I would choose the NSX, with the 911 ,993 style, a very close seond, with the Ferrari 348 a distant third.
Interesting enough, some of the newer the NSX and the Ferrari F355 are in the same $50-60k price range that is a hard choice, but of course the maintance and upkeep on the F355 is much higher !

EDIT: Unless you personally like the way it looks much better. But don't pick a car based on what you think will impress other people.
