That's exactly what I told the dude, but he insists the paperwork on the car says '06. I figure it is likely a really really late 05 and he may be assuming by the production date.
Anyway, he was closed today so I snapped a couple pics when I slid by the lot. Been raining a lot here, I'm sure it could look a lot cleaner since it doesn't have any flaws to it.

I think the 04-05 545i is a good buy for a used car. It can be had for as little as 31k here in NYC. It can still hold its own against Bimmers own 335... Or can it? Here is a vid of the two brutes going at it.

I just drove in a 523iL over here in China. Gorgeous car, although of course gutless (with an older defunct smaller 6 cylinder engine), but plenty of room in the back. It's too bad they dont offer a 535iL in the states or it would of been game over for me!

Well a 545 can beat out a 535d. Video proof is compelling

I was going to pick up a dark blue with black interior last october. We decided on a Range Rover since having 2 RWD cars wont help up much in the snow. Guess what? It didn't snow much at all last year so I was kinda bummed. Anywho the 545 howls very nicely. I am even considering getting a 550 BUT I'd definitely have to make it look something like this:

He doesn't have anything, yet. As those pics show, it's a 545i so probably an '05.
And lots of disconnects on comparisons in this thread.
As was stated the new 535i has twin turbos and so is probably at least a match for the 545i. The older 530i is definitely slower than the 545i.

My dad daily drives an E60 M5, and the thing is a goddamn beast. But the 545i is just a fantastic automobile. Super comfortable, a great performer and hugely attractive in my opinion.
I can vouch for BMW on this one, if you spring for this car, you'll be extremely pleased.
