Taste of Lexus 2007 Official (pg. 6)
#185
Went to the Taste of Lexus in Irvine today. Man oh man in my opinion it was way better than last years. Far more organization and far less crowds.
Everything was indoors (tented) and air conditioned. It was fairly hot in California, so it was nice that they thought ahead. Even with tarp tents, they went full "luxury" (since it was their theme this year) and even put glass doors for all the entrances and exits.
Food service was waaaaay better than last year. I felt last year it was like a costco sample line and they just gave small portions. This year, they allow each guest to have a complimentary meal that is served on nice plastic square plates and silver plasticware that all looks very classy. I had the cous-cous and stuff chicken.
The electronic cards worked great and made the waiting to drive cars less painful. You could sign up for one time slot and while you were waiting walk around and explore other tents. Great idea!!
The sad thing was that the gift this year was a tire pressure gauge from Dunlop. It was really cheap and definitely not a "Luxury" gift. I mean, even last year they gave away those silver business card holders.... and thats waaaay more "luxury" than a plastic tire gauge. There werent even coupons on cars this year!! hahah.
One thing that made me sad though... they took back the cool Lexus cards/lanyards this year; claiming that they have to re-use them!!! I guess they spent so much money on all the other stuff that they couldnt let us keep the cards!!! They were a lot nicer than lasts years
