The Mustang GT and MazdaSpeed 6 are at the top? Seems like a foolish index, to say the least. Weight and HP alone do not accurately indicate the performance of a car. For instance, A Camry V6 SE is about as fast as a Mazdaspeed 6, yet it costs thousands less. It has less torque than the Mazdaspeed 6, but it also weighs less.

Mazdaspeed *3* which I don't know, but would expect is faster than a Camry, not to mention handles better.

No, because torque is not an adequate performance measurement; it doesnt tell you anything. Where it occurs in the powerband and how much of it is something else (and that something else is horsepower). All the trucks with "lots of torque" actually just make "lots of horsepower" in the lower rpm-band.

Its power under the curve; and even with a real peaky curve, if you've got the gearing to take advantage of it, it don't mean a damn thing. Take a look at bikes and F1 cars.

I guess this is for new cars. My Nissan is a good bit faster than a MazdaSpeed3 or a Mustang GT and I guarentee I've got a lot less invested (around $3500 total)

Sorry, my mistake there. I think the 3 is faster than a V6 Camry, but not sure by how much. Handling doesn't seem to be part of this index.

Basically any older vehicles can easily top that list based on current values.
