Sup Guys
Just want to know what radar detectors you guys are using I'm thinking about getting a Valentine 1 and want to know what your opinions on it are and how much it is. Any and all help would be greatly appreciated.

I've got the V1 in the IS350 (with remote display at the top of the instruments) and the 8500 in the Z71.
Used to have a Solo 2 Escort (hardwired) and for pure city use it's the best, but nothing beats the V1 on the highway.

I gotta correct this post, sorry.
There is no such thing as popblocker. Don't know where you got that term from. To can turn on/off the pop detecting feature, and no, you do not have to open up the detector!!
V1's (and other high end detectors) have a feature that helps them detect a new type of instant on, called pop. Two forms of pop exist, K band at 16milliseconds (ms) and K and Ka bands and 67ms. The V1 does an excellent job at the 67ms, but to date, no detector can accurately pick up the 16ms kband pop.
HOwever, not to worry, since (a) not many states use pop, or have radar guns that are pop equipped, and (b) pop alone is insufficient to issue a ticket. In the worst case scenario, pop would be triggered, followed by a true instant-on, which could determine your speed.
To answer the other question about which detectors are good, I'll summarize. The "big 5" are the V1, Escort 9500i, the Escort 8500 x50, the Bel RX65 (all of the last 3 units are based on the same platform) and the Bel Sti driver, (for those of you driving in an area where detectors are prohibited)

I've been using my V1 since 1999. Still works great. Another benefit is that the V1 is upgradable, so it won't become obsolete.
Last time I checked, for about $200 I could send in my current unit and get a brand new one.
