Fantastic Four to Get HEMI Power . . .
Fantasticar
If any vehicle could be dubbed a "supercar," it's hardly a Lamborghini or Ferrari. More than likely, it's the kind of car the Fantastic Four would drive-and this summer, that car, the "Fantasticar," is powered by a Dodge HEMI.
The summer sequel to 2005's Fantastic Four flick, dubbed Fantastic Four: Rise of the Silver Surfer, finds the quartet behind the wheel of a new vehicle designed with a HEMI capable of pushing its imaginary limits to 550 miles per hour and 30,000 feet.
The supercrew has had a Fantasticar in comic-book pages since 1962. The film version of the car is penned by Tim Flattery (Transformers) with the input of Chrysler Group chief stylist Trevor Creed. In the movie, the Fantasticar can break into three sections, and sports deployable wings-something not found standard on any Dodge HEMI we've driven.
The summer movie finds the car and heroes defending the Earth against the Silver Surfer, who "races around the globe wreaking havoc," and a surprisingly alive Dr. Doom. The movie opens June 15; no word on whether the monthly magazines have already broken the first-drive embargoes of the Fantasticar yet, but there's still time.
