Infiniti is getting into... the sneaker business?
Maybe they'll have a MazdaSpeed version that will help me run faster.
This goes down as one of the biggest automotive marketing blunders of all time
...even worse than the Infiniti TV commecials back in the early 90s...
Remember those? I think they were selling rocks, trees, and the ocean.
And maybe leaves. Not sure.

Is that not the same "brushstroke" as this post...? I know they like to reuse things a lot at Nissan but seriously?

That looks like the best brushstroke ever!
In all seriousness I think the new G35 coupe is going to be a HUGE
hit. My co-worker can't wait until it comes out this Spring and
was drooling over the concept pix when I showed them to him.

I think it probably will be too. Not sure I will like it more than the current one, it may not be as masculine, & I have to see the rear of the production model, but there's little doubt I'll like this new one overall too.

How? I didn't realize you could tell I was excited through forum posts. Seems to me the excited one here is Sick and his ranting about the debut teaser. I'm not sure why you all think this such a bad marketing move or whatever; it's the same as when Lexus released a shot of the muffler and taillamp of the IS-F during the Los Angeles auto show and NOTHING of the LF-A concept. It's just a teaser.

Infiniti should just bow out gracefully. With so many discontinued models such as the G20, I35, M30, J30 and QX4 why are they still in the luxury market? With the latest discontinued model the Q45 they have no chance at all. Lexus has released the LS 460 and soon to be LS 600h L. Infiniti is lefted far behind...
many consider the M to be a superior car to the GS (there are days
I think this too). I like the fact that they are actually BEATING
Lexus, BMW and MB in comparos.
It shows the Big Three in Luxury that they can't rest otherwise
Audi, Infiniti and possibly Acura could take away their sales.
The Q45 is a joke though and will have an impossible time catching on
with flagship customers.

You gotta remember that Infiniti didn't have to release anything. But I kinda like their brushstroke marketing campaign. At least they stay true to their roots and are not ashamed to market their car as a Japanese car, hence the swords, washi, etc. Now I like Lexus and all, but I don't like how they try to pose as German cars based on their marketing in the US. I picked up a GS brochure and it mentioned something about how Germans like to pamper themselves with spas... or something of that nature.

Exactly...that is infiniti's marketing campaign. Its just enough to make people wonder what it possibly can be. Keeps it exciting imo..not knowing what it is. All you know is something new is coming from infiniti. Its great that infiniti is sticking to one marketing campaign. The brushstroke is emphasized in all their marketing
Also, you dont hear or read anything from any good publications saying that what infiniti released (the sketch and brush stroke) is stupid or pointless. Only infiniti haters see it that way

That means that you get easily excited.
UberNoob that brought a smile to my face at 7:45AM at work, hard to do when I can barely move.
I honestly can't see SUV from the brush stroke. I wonder if I can hire the Infiniti guy who came up with these brush stroke deals to mock up my next tattoo. I've been searching for someone who knows how to write in Chinese calligraphy very well. It'd probably be no bigger than 3in x 4in. But than again, I don't want them end up giving my design to some other guy.

Some of you I cannot believe, getting excited about a brushstroke. I think its laughable. The brand is languishing. Sales are down 2 years in a row.
You would think after the success of the G and M 3/45 they would CONTINUE with the product onslaught. Even the FX, while selling poorly, is a success for being different.
Instead they offer the worst quallty SUV, QX56, the Q45 is discontinued and now a downmarket SUV.
Many people thought they were really going to turn it around and they did have a sales peak 2 years ago. Now, the brand is back in turmoil.
For goodness sakes, Nissan's BEST CAR , the GT-R, will be a Nissan.
Imagine a Toyota LF-A?

It is not the brush stroke itself that we like, it is the style of the brush stroke. If they actually make a car that has the silhouette I think it would end up being a very nice looking coupe. The marketing of the brush stroke might be lame, but I don't really care about that, I care about what that brush stroke turns into.
