Ugh, it's so true. Some friends and I were having a discussion on this. I definitely am a bigger fan of the EL or LED gauges than the bulb-backlit gauges that my old Cavalier sported... hard to read at night sometimes because they were so dull. Then I go to my ES with the bright white backlighting and bright orange needles, and I could never go back.

Those gauges look better than anything Chrysler has put out in the past, well, forever. Love how they look like they're forged out of solid steel, with the "Oil pressure" and the numbers etc carved out. Nice.

Wait...i don't get the difference between optitron guages?/electroluminescent??
What are optitron guags anyway?

What are optitron guags anyway?
I believe optitron gauges use a gas filled needle.
