Default Lexus Sales Rep gives OFFICIAL info on ISF and LX570

from CSS...a reliable source who has given accurate info on the LS and other cars before and who works as a sales rep from lexus said that his boss went to a meeting in chicago, and saw the LX and ISF...last october, the boss saw the new LS and ES in Toronto, and said that looked exactly like those shots that leaked...so he is reliable

this is what he said

ISF
Well, the car finally surfaced. It has the staggered 4 exhaust pipes in the rear. They look huge! The official name will be the IS-F (not sure about the hyphen). The cowl is raised to show that it's not another regular IS. Oh, and the car will be in showrooms a year from today.
Edit: Oops, forgot to mention it'll have 415hp.

LX570
The new LX has surfaced. It will be called the LX570 (obviously with a 5.7l engine). It will tow over 8,000 lbs., best in class. The pictures in this thread are heavily disguised, so you can't really tell anything else than size. Best way to describe it is very LSish in the front and kind of Sequoiaish in the rear.

Same, that just seems so low compared to the next offerings. I've heard the next C-Class (W204) is going to have an AMG with a 6.3L 500hp or so engine. That would only make sense (unless it'd detuned) because the current E63 has 500hp or so.

The next M3 is supposed to be a V8 with what.. 450hp? (I have no idea, I just pulled that number outta no where).

i am interested in finding out the power on the c63 too. i wonder if they are going to detune the engine. to me it doesn't make much sense having the c63 having the same power as the e63. you wouldn't see the v10 from m5 on the m3. the m3 is rumored to have around 400hp, not 450. basically that's a variance of the v8 from the e39 m5 from what i heard.

What I hear was, C class wont get the 6.3 AMG liter treatment, but will stay with NA 5.5 liter motor.

But honestly, Lexus is late to the game and 415hps won't cut it. I know it's a lot of horese but lexus needs to blow away everyone in its class or it wont do well.

I can offer an opinion.
Now that someone said the W204 won't get a 6.3L it's a moot point if true, but if they were it's easy to just detune it through ECU and offer a hundred less true hp or so.

BMW can't do that because it's not the same engine.

The C55, E55, SL55, S55, blah blah blah all have the same engine. The larger ones just have a supercharger. We'll see what happens. The NA 5.5L is 362hp or so, not a bad engine, but it's not world-class as far as technology goes. It's a dated design.

i think 415hp will be just fine

also if you look at the CSS thread on the ISF, the rep also said that pics of the IS coupe/convert were shown and are 2 years away

They will need much more than 415 hp for sure if it's still 2 years away, everybody else are not standing still . . .

yeah but i guess my point is the e55 and c55 afterall have very different power ratings. same engine doesn't mean same power. that's the reason why i am not sure if the c63 (if it comes) will have the same power.

but of course, i agree with you, that if they detune the engine, nothing that renntech can't fix

Well if they put the 6.3 engine in there it's going to jack up price considerably. And if they detune the engine to produce a little more than competition (M3, RS4, IS-F) a lot more people might just price shop elsewhere because it's in a higher price range. We'll see what they do. In my opinion the 6.3 is overkill. It's like that guy who dropped the SLR engine into the SLK.

As I said before, the only difference is that the bigger brothers have a supercharger, Other then that though it's the same hardware.

I'm hoping the 6.3 in the C won't be detuned. The NA 55 would just be too weak. 350hp is not enough in this game.

it all depends at what Lexus prices it... and I bet it will be a lot less than AMG C klass.

Now, considering IS350 already does 0-60 in 5.1 sec, 110hp and more torque in V8 should do a lot... thats like 35% more HP. Its hard to say "it wont be enough"...
