What do you think Lexus will be like in the next 4 years?

One thing we have seen the GX/LX 2008 pictures. Thing is if its going to be the new LX, that will look like the GX, more than likely Lexus will probably remove the GX from the line-up.

I can speculate all I want.

One thing the LF-X could be the future RX or renamed too the JX.

I heard Lexus might try and bring a smaller version of the RX in similar to the RAV4.

Time will only tell.

With the RXs I don't doubt there could be 4.0L+, but I think the hps will likely approach 300 by then.

Thats a nice dream but theres alot more to a car company then horsepower numbers, engine sizes, and cool names.

It would take me a very long time to make actual specs and features for all the models.

I will laugh if some of the stuff I posted does happen or does come near to what i thought of.

It still is good thinking. From time to time, with vehicles I have owned I think about if the evolution of the vehicle was correct or not.

Case in point, we used to own in the 80s two Jag XJ6s, but when the newer (remember that square model that came out) about 1989, it just fell flat on its face in just about every aspect.

I wish Lexus would come out with something similar to the Aygo (?sp), to bad it would hurt their image.

I am huge fan of sub-compact cars.

If it does happen, probably be like what 2014.

Well, for one thing, Toyota won't be using a W12 engine. Or a V12.

Not in 4 years anyways... and there's no benefit of a W12 over a V12 except engine complexity (and thats not a benefit).

I think you're beyond optimistic... more like something out of a comic book. There's no point in jumping to a 4 liter V6 in passenger cars... why hamper the gas mileage and emissions problems?

Sometimes, a car evolves without an increase in engine displacement. There's more to it than that.

I doubt that Lexus will make a V12. They stated that to make a V12 will be "copying" what the competitors are doing. That's why Lexus decided to make a V8+hybrid to provide V12 power; they want to be a bit more innovative than following the power-hungry high-end luxury marque. When the LS evolves again, I see a more gas efficient and powerful engine with similar displacement. Compare the horsepower output and gas efficiency of the 330 and 350 engines...

As for hybrid performance cars, I doubt that the LF-A will have a hybrid option due to the fact that such cars are sooo heavy that it takes away from their performance specs. But then again, the Bugatti weighs close to 6000 lbs! The SC may have the hybrid as it is more of a cruiser than a performance car, but who knows? Whatever it is, I'm quite excited to see how they both will be a couple of years from now...

If the next SC is to retain the hardtop convertible feature, they better figure out how to make the batteries much smaller first before offering a hybrid. There's not that much trunk space to sacrifice with the hardtop stowed at the back, & you want to retain some storage space , if not usable rear seats behind the front seats too . . .

well if the SC hybrid comes late enough, toyota already promise the next generation prius to have a much smaller battery, which might make its way to the SC

Also, didn't Toyota say that the next Prius will run 117 MPG? It'll probably be as asthmatic as the current Prius in terms of performance, but otherwise, more battery power in a smaller space is good, just as long as they don't recall it like how laptop batteries have been recalled recently.

Just give any Lexus half of such a hybrid system for extra acceleration ummph and it'll be beneficial...
