Lotus To Roll Out Supercharged Exige S in United States
The Exige S has a supercharged and intercooled 1.8-liter engine that makes 220 horsepower and takes the car from zero to 60 mph in 4.1 seconds.

DULUTH, Ga. — Lotus said on Wednesday that its supercharged Exige S will arrive in limited numbers at its U.S. dealerships later this year and carry a starting price of $57,915, including a $925 destination charge.
The Exige S adds a supercharger and an intercooler to the Exige's standard 1.8-liter engine, and boosts horsepower from 190 to 220 and torque from 133 to 165 pound-feet. The Exige S goes from zero to 60 mph in 4.1 seconds and has a 148-mph top speed. Lotus said the Exige S returns an estimated 25 mpg in combined city/highway driving. The vehicle is equipped with a six-speed manual gearbox and the Lotus T4e Engine Control System, which includes variable-rpm cam switching.
The Exige S includes a rear wing, front splitter and side air intakes that are painted body color instead of black. A single oval exhaust replaces the twin-pipe design of the standard Exige. A revised roof scoop provides air for the intercooler.
What this means to you: Using just 4.1 seconds to get to 60 means the Exige S is on the verge of knocking at the door of a very exclusive club.

Bout time(not like it was in need of more power considering itsa ultra light weight, but of course it would make things more interesting). Love the way the Exige looks.

Is the supercharged Exige street legal? I read somewhere else about the supercharged Exige being track-only, but that article also mentioned a higher hp for that Exige.
Love the car, great performance and decent price tag, but just can't convince myself to get one. Too many SUVs with crazy people on cell phone behind the wheel, if you know what I mean.

That thing looks so nasty. I want one!
I love seeing these little Lotuses around town. They are uncommon, but not crazy exotic. I think of them as the working man's supercar.
