That is definately some very good publicity. My wife is going to want the new LS just for that feature and I think I might just have trade our old one in for her(shes a horrible parker, not to mention driver....but I never said that ).

I saw this video recently, another self park video. Does anyone know if the 5 series actually does offer this feature or not? maybe in Europe? I'm just curious.

Wow that is pretty simple, and faster then i expected. I hope that they didn't setup anything first instead of just picking any random spot.

well the thing that would take time is adjusting the box. If the box is already where you want to be, then all you press is "OK" to set the box and "AGREE" to agree to all the stupid disclaimers and then you're off!

I heard there must be about 6.5" of extra space for the LS to allow you to have the self-park feature. Is this true? I read this somewhere, but I have only come across this feature once. Would this feature work in downtown NYC,Boston, etc when you need to parallel park?

6.5" front and back, or combined? that's not a a lot of space either way. most people probably can't do that if it's true
