Not in Canada. The 2003 RL = Cdn$55,000. The new 2004 RL = $69,990.

I still like the TL more overall compared to the RL. But I hate the FWD in the TL.

Doesn't matter what they do now. Sales under 1,000 units a month are coming....Sad, its not a bad car.

Why do you think they're not selling as well? Bad marketing or just not appealling to the masses?

Well I predicted it from the start but I was called by some a Honda basher
1. Lack of prestige
2. Bland looks
3. No V-8 option
4. Lack of effective marketing
5. Super competative and refreshed market

Again, not a bad car at all but for $50k people will be happy in a 184hp 525 instead to have the badge (as an example) and could care less about SH-AWD and A-spec, etc...

TL is too good and the RL wasnt good enough to be worth spending 10k+ more for

TL-S comes loaded already with NAV and other stuff I dont see a /w Navigation option for 38, so Im going to guess its included since the pics show navigation. Lot of stuff is changed from the typical TL. They didnt really do a whole lot from the previous TL to TL-S, now theres a exclusive interior (the seats look real good), quad exhaust, and other things

It's solid enough for just a normal car company. However, for the "luxury brand" that they are targeted to be, it just doens't cut it.

They have a 4-cylinder 20k dollar coupe, and their top-of-the-line model is a 50k sedan with no V8 option. Not saying those are bad, but again they're not aimed at becoming competition for Toyota or Nissan. I don't think Lexus and Infiniti is really worried about Acura right now.

RSX is gone. no more RSX. I dont think Honda is going to build V8 in a while. Honda has different philosophy.

I am just saying in terms of sales number. new MDX will do very very well. I know some people think it's ugly and all, but it's a lot of car for the price. RDX will do as well. It's a very very soild car. TSX has been doing well and I am sure once they update the motor with the Turbo, it will do better. TL is a great car, FWD or not.

I wonder what they took out? Nav and maybe active headlights what else?

The top levels price did not change.

This will not help much b/c it's just removing features to get to the lower price. I think Acura should lower the price while having same features.

I rode in a RL it was nice and comfortable, but for $50K (w/nav) I expct more than 'just nice'.

It's funny because most IS350 owners paid about 43K for their cars and I think you can get a RL around that price range also.

To be honest, I think RL is a lot more car than IS350.

What I find really odd is I have seen many, many threads and even some owners jump from a RL to a IS 350 or compare the RL and IS 350. I have never seen the IS 350 compared to a E350 or 530. Rarely does is it compared to the GS or M35/45. To me that stuck out, b/c it shows people didn't respect it as much as a higher "class" vehicle.

We have a few threads here about it.

Unhappy Acura

As long as Acura keeps doing whatever they feel like despite what the market or their customers say, I do not think any auto maker is all that concerned. They are a minor nuisance @ best but if they ever got serious about the luxury market ...
