06 Lexus Sc430 or 06 Lotus Exige
Ok, I understand the 2 cars are totally different. I have a huge dilema right now on which one to get. But which would you choose and why. Just for your information. I'm not married and do not have any kids. I drive about 150-200 miles a week. I do not need a lot of space. This will also be my daily driver in Irvine so its very good roads.
SC430 Pro's
Roomier
Luxurious
Navigation
Reliability
Hard top Convertable
Able to take long trips comfortably
Con's
Gas Milage
Exige Pro's
Very Light
The killer Looks
GREAT GAS MILAGE
Pure sports car
FAST
great handling
Con's
No Garage, but car cover may help. I'm just worried about people messing with it.
Can't take it anywhere ghetto.

Like you said, TOTALLY different cars. If this was going to be a daily driver, the SC definatly. If it's going to be a toy/hobby/weekend vehicle (a 2nd car basically) I'd consider the Lotus.

You should get something in between instead. The SC is comfortable but performance sucks, and the Exige is just the totally opposite. If you like the look of the SC, maybe a Toyota Solara. How about getting a 328i coupe and spend the remaining budget on a go-kart?
Since you don't have a garage, I just don't think it's a good idea to leave the Exige outside. And I don't think you will put on and take off the cover on a daily basis after a week or so.

Sorry rominl, but the only SC430's I ever see in Irvine are driven by old women. But of course they don't look anything like yours.
Unless you're going to spend a few bucks to fix up the SC, I say buy the Exige. Just get an alarm for it.

With reservation, the Lotus is my pick...
The Lotus is fun. I would love to have one for the weekends, but definately not for a daily commute.
The SC blends functionality with comfort. It isn't "fun" persay (read performance enthralling), but you definately will enjoy it for other amenities.
If I had to choose the two, I would choose the Lotus just because it's a little different. I doubt that you are considering either one as a primary daily driver, so I would choose the Lotus.
Keep us informed if you actually get it...

Seems like you want the exige more than the sc, but the no-garage and no-ghetto place is a deterrent
Being in irvine, it's nicer so people shouldn't/wouldn't really mess with your car.
It is more exotic than the sc and the only CONS to the sc is gas mileage?
Give me the sc and subjectively, I can't stand the look of an exige (esp. in black it looks like a cockroach).
To be different, get the exige
