Ad in local paper: GM Tops Imports!
An ad by the local GM dealer for Cadillac, Pontiac and GMC in today's paper states that GM is better than the imports. Examples state:
1. "GM has 8 out of 10 of the quality manufacturing plants in North America, including the top 3. This means GM Quality is better now than all imports. Toyota's highest rated plant is 15th."
2. "GM is the leader in fuel economy with 18 vehicle that get over 30 mpg, better than Toyota, Nissan and Hyundai combimed."
3. " GM is the leader in alternative fuels. GM has 1.5 million vehicles on the highway that run on E85. Plus GM is the leader in hydrogen fuel research, which is the future of alternative power sources, rather than hybrids."
4. " The imports would lead you to believe they make cars and trucks in the U.S. It Not True! They assemble their cars from parts made mostly in Japan, Korea and other foreign countries. There is a big difference in assembling vehicle and making them. 85% of all parts GM uses to build their cars and trucks comes from the U.S.. Lexus: 3%, BMW 11%, Hyundai 1%"
5. "Who has the most dependable vehicles? According to JD Power and Associates, GM does, with 8 vehicles winning their segments. More than any other manufacturer, including the imports."
6. "Who has the safest vehicles on the road?. GM does by far, with more safety devices on more vehicles than any other company."
"Why should you buy new American cars, particularly GM, verses imports?
"GM's guality is as good as or better than the imports."
"GM's gas mileage is better."
"GM's dependability is better."
Wow! Guess I had better go trade in my Lexus on a new Cadillac because GM says it's better (well maybe for the first week or so?)
