Question Would you guys still love me if I bought a...

... Nissan Versa 5-door? I just got back from a local Nissan dealership and they're going to hold a black Versa 1.8 SL CVT w/Convenience Pkg for me. It's due August 6th...

Cheers,

U could go JDM and get the Renault badges. Wait that is EDM (european domestic market).

I am confused.

You really must like the looks of that thing

If you end up with that, you gotta bring it to one of the meets...when you make it.

... Or I could get the Tiida badge

There's two main reasons and some peripheral reasons why I'm getting this car:

1. My 2IS is my only car. 13 cu. ft. of trunk space... doesn't quite cut it when I want to haul stuff.
2. MPG. My combined average for the IS250 AWD is about 21.5 MPG. I commute about 60 miles a day and it adds up fast.

Peripheral reasons:

1. I drive A LOT and I'm putting a LOT of mile on my IS250 AWD. I've only owned it for almost 8 months now and I'm fast approaching 14,000 miles on it.
2. I don't think a Yakima roof rack on top of a 2IS would look good either.

All in all, I just wanted a 2nd "beater" car for when I need to haul stuff and commute daily and keep the miles low on the Lexus. The Fit, Yaris and Versa all looked interested. Even took a test-drive in the Fit (5AT w/paddles) and it's fun to drive. However, all the Honda dealers in my area (Seattle) have a "market adj. value" markup close to $5K over MSRP. To give you an idea how bad that is, if I added another $3K to what they were asking for the Fit, I could of bought a base Toyota Camry Hybrid. I thought about buying a used wagon or such but the only thing that's going to get close to the mileage rating on the Versa with that much cargo space would of been like a VW diesel wagon.

Cheers,
Kermee

. . . only if you're keeping your Lexus too

If you think you need a second beater car, go for it

I'm too much in love with my Lexus 2IS. I know these things last forever and I don't feel bad if I put a "reasonable" amount of mileage on it but man... I'm putting a LOT on it so I just need to balance it out with another vehicle. It may just turn into my weekend/clubbing car for a bit.

Cheers,
Kermee

P.S. I just got a call from another dealership that they're getting them this week. I'm off!

Did u sit down and really do the math. Cost of new car+ insurance+ maintenance- gas savings.
Are you going to keep the IS? If you do, just drive the snot outta it since resale won't matter.

The IS already gets tops or tied with BMW tops fuel economy in class.

If your going to get a beater, get a BEATER, not a new car. Get like an old Nissan Sentra or something like that.

I think u just want another car

Just out of curiosity, how much are they going for? I too have some interest in one, albeit a manual. But I just curious on the pricing as I have not yet gone to price them out myself.

a lot... but it is also an Corolla/Civic competitor, not Yaris/Fit really.

Aside the storage and cargo situation, I would suggest getting a motorcycle. That long of a commute will be less troublesome on a nice 650cc rocket. Hell, even a 250 cc scooter like the Honda Reflex can go up to 90 mph with 60 mpg efficiency...

Base 1.8 S starts at $13,055 MSRP for a six-speed. My 1.8 SL CVT came out to be $16,905 MSRP with the options.

Cheers,
