Caught on set

Don't let the German license plates fool you - these Porsche Targa S pictures were taken on public roads in the great state of California, USA!

Father and son, Daniel and Edward Allen, were motoring down some country roads when they stumbled upon a photo shoot for either a future brochure, or possible advertising campaign, and they each took one shot of the Targa with their camera. Dad (Daniel) shot the rear view, and Ed took the front photo.

Totally uncamouflaged and even sporting badges, these are the "cleanest" Targa pictures that we've seen to date. And, to top it off, what could be better than a father and son "bonding" story - especially when it involves a Porsche?

Exterior modifications over the coupe include a sharp-edged rear side-window plus the panoramic transparent roof which slides back over the rear window on the push of a button. It’s more than likely that the Targa will be available as a Carrera 4 and 2 as well as the Targa S pictured here.

I wonder how long Porsche is going to stick with that same body style introduced in 1964. By now it has to be the second-longest running body style in the industry ( 42 years ), exceeded only by the air-cooled Beetle which was discontinued in Mexico only a year or so ago...it went back to around 1935 or so in **** Germany.

Love it, though I think it is more like a very large sunroof instead of a removeable targa top.

I for one would not want a traditional targa roof over this.
But if I ever get a 911,I would want just a regular coupe with no sunroof

LOL! Yep, their designers are so creative. How hot would this one get in the summer sun?

I've always been a fan of the targa.

Is that a chrome strip?

yes, to the chrome strip. It accents the slightly different windows and roof line quite nicely.

Hopefull they offer this in more powerful versions as well. Its amazing to see so many variations of the same model and all sell extremely well considering its price.

Porsche Cabrio-Coupe Uncovered

Totally uncamouflaged, but not yet sporting badges, these are the "cleanest" Targa pictures that we've seen to date.

Exterior modifications over the coupe include a sharp-edged rear side-window plus the panoramic transparent roof which slides back over the rear window on the push of a button.

It’s more than likely the Targa will be available as a Carrera 2 and 4 and on top as the Targa S.
