Default New Car , Need Help

hello everyone i need help making a decision. the wife is finally ready to get rid of the 04 yukon( moving back to nyc and gas prices are determining factors) and she wants to get something else with payments in the 4-$500 range and doesnt eat gas. she said something about theacura mdx which is a nice suv but i thought that she wouldnt really save any money if she got that. i suggested that she get something smaller or a 6 cyl vehicle. what do you guys think? need to get this taken care of in the next 2 months

$400-500 a month is about $25k financed. How about down payment, or trade in value for the Yukon?

If you're looking at the $25-30k range, why not get the Highlander Hybrid? They're now selling near invoice...

she might lease so she can write it off at the end of the year, ive seen some MDXs for 30-35k in the atlanta area the only problem is that i know we are going to take a hit on the yukon but my wife is finally tired of those 60-$70 fillups

Why not look at a 03-04 RX, should be able to hit your price, if not less....If you can deal with a used car....

V6 Rav4L. You get that with leather or cloth sunroof, all for a good price. Detuned IS350 motor in it. 269 horses

not really MY choice its my wifes car which i told her not to get in the first place but you all know how woman are, i personally would have gotten a used car b/c im a certified mechanc and not really worried about maintenance. it would have to be a reliable car though. for my wife its about the gas, but for me its about how quick this car is depreciating and getting the most for it while we still can. last year the kelly bluebook value was 27k now its only 19k. **** its takes $70 to fill up the LS but im not worried b/c it gets great gas mileage and i dont really have to put any money into it, but i cant say the same thig for the yukon. it eats gas, the warranty is almost up and there are better options out there so yeah i would rather roll a couple grand into the next vehicle than to keep losing money on the present vehicle. Anyway the choice for suv is btw the MDX and the XC90 and i did read the reviews on both with the MDX being the front runner. ive seen 03 at 24k and 05s at 34k
