Why the world's most successful automaker gets so much grief -- and why it doesn't deserve it.

NEW YORK (FORTUNE) - Always the subject of backbiting and criticism from its rivals, Toyota could be excused these days for feeling as if it has a larger target than usual painted on its back. The more successful it becomes, the more flack it gets.
Lately, the volume and intensity have been increasing. Opponents use a familiar tactic: They take a fact that supposedly puts Toyota (Research) in a bad light and then use that to build an entirely spurious argument. The latest examples:

Excellent article that shows how little things get blown out of proportion...

Well, some negative things, Toyota DOES deserve, IMO. The interiors on Toyota ( not Lexus ) in general, though there are exceptions, are not as good as, say, 10 years ago, and Toyota won't bring any AWD sedans or coupes here to the U.S. market except for the Matrix.......one reason why Subaru is so popular in this area.

Interesting article, for them(analyts/rival consumers/and the competition) to say what they feel about Toyota/Lexus as a whole,.....well at least Toyota have the King Kong ***** to say who is now the man in the game, and it is not like it happened overnight. Look at Toyota's track record, compared to the rest that have been in the game much longer, especially the premium brands. A company that looks to be perfect in so many ways contibutes to the rival companies that are not. So thanks to them too! .......When there is negativity to be said, within there is fear and desperation to go with it. ....The rivals just have a good way of hiding it!
