Default RSX discontinued after 2006 (?)

If true, it's a good move. No matter how you slice it, a $20,000 car does not merit a "luxury" badge.

Glad the figured that out after say, 20 years. Then again, why are they picking on the RSX, which wins comparisons and maybe the best FWD sport coupe around? I personally like the car.

Why pick on this I-4 car and leave the I-4 TSX and introduce a new I-4 SUV?

MAkes no sense. IMO, they should KEEP the RSX, just make it more competative.

OR BRING US THE TYPE-R!!!!

Thats really going to suck for my Mexican friends who were forced to buy Civic VTECs. Acura opened its doors in late 2004 and they promised my friends the RSXs would come. They're not going to like this when I tell them on track night.

Now, bring back the Integra.....the car they should have kept in the first place.

I never liked the RSX ...though I DID like its sedan brother the TSX.
The Integra, though, was superb.

Uh, isn't the USDM RSX the same thing as a JDM Integra? So why bring back a car that is already here?

Not that I know of....but you may correct me if I am wrong.

The U.S.-market RSX was a completely different car from the U.S.-market Integra. The last American Integra had four round deep-set headlights somewhat similiar to the 1994-1999 Toyota Celica.

Since my first brand new car was a 91 Integra, I kind of have a place in my heart for the Integra/RSX line. However, with the TSX there really is no reason for the RSX anymore unless you really want a hatchback. My brother in law had an RSX Type S, and now an 05 TSX. It is no competition. The RSX iss a much better car for only about $5K more. What Acura needs to do is offer two more real coupes. One coupe needs to be an RL level coupe and one an entry level coupe. The entry level one either call it a TSX coupe, or keep the RSX name and make that the coupe (Not hatchback). Since the TSX probably will get the I4 turbo with the next redesign, an RSX coupe with an I4 turbo would be a killer car for about $25K.

It is true. The RSX is just a name change for the North American market Acura. It is the same as the RL still is called the Legend in Japan. Same car, just a different badge and name.

DC5 is the chassis code designation for the Honda Integra (Acura RSX here). Googling "JDM DC5" will find a myriad of results

I started liking Intergras with the 170hp GS-R back in I think 1992. A very fun car, good build quality and eventually mods galore. I then liked the next gen, the quad headlight Intergra, it looked different, still drove great and made no bones that it was a fun car.

Then in Acuras quest to confuse everyone, the Intergra became the RSX, which I do understand, is like NSX, the other coupe, in name. But then the CL came, then got discontinued. Acura sedans became RL/TL. Then they bring the Euro-Accord over, and name it TSX.

See I am confused already

I think they should KEEP the RSX and just improve it. They have a VERY loyal audiance and INCREDIBLE aftermarket support. It makes no sense for them to "say" they are going upmarket, but offer a sub 30k sedan in the TSX and a I-4 SUV in the RD-X (when no other luxury car maker has a I-4 SUV). The RSX does have much TOUGHER competiton than when it debuted. In the last few years
WRX
EVO
350Z
RX-8
SRT-4
Just to name a few.

Might as well just dominate the sub entry level luxury market with the RSX/TSX/RD-X and leave luxury to other brands.
