If you’re a Mercedes fan, you’re probably familiar with the SLK-SLR engine swap commissioned by Dubai car collector Mohammed Ben Sulayem. He famously put an SLR engine into his white SLK55, turning it into an Enzo-killing rocket. Ben Sulayem is now working on a new project: putting an SLR engine into and E55!

Yeah ... Dubai is rediculous. Even though they are insane, they are spending a lot of that oil money on capital projects to diversify their economy which is exceptional given that in 25 years or so production is going to dwindle significantly as the oil fields in the region begin to expire. No other country or locality in the mid-east has made significant progress in diversifying their economies which means lots of unsettled people without any prospect for work in the future who will blame the United States for it (not their lazy pilfering leaders) because their pilfering religious leaders tell them to and will consider terrorism a viable career path.

DAMN!!!! With every upshift in the Enzo the SLK-SLR gains an entire car length on him. LOL...I thought Enzo shifts lightening quick. What an awsome conversion!!


So how did he get the donor engines?? I highly doubt he bought two SLR's and just did regular body swaps. IF he did I wouldnt mind taking the skeleton.

so you can get this engine directly from mb?

i know for cars like the m3, m5, you can't get the engine like that. it has to be from that car and unless the engine is gone, you can't replace it. pleaes correct me though

that's why it's so hard to see m3 and m5 engine in other cars. i remember reading about one guy who has a 5 wagon with m5 powertrain. he's a bmw mechanic and he had to get the m5 engine from the junk yard or something
