Default 2007 Audi RS4 priced at 66K

Audi of America announced pricing for the RS 4 at the New York International Auto Show. More details of the show will follow this week, though I wanted to make sure pricing got out to the avid folks who are waiting for these cars.

Base Price will start at $66,000, with a $2,100 Gas Guzzler Tax and $720 destination.

Options will be limited, but include:

Premium Package - $4,700
- Bluetooth Phone Prep
- Memory Seats and Mirrors
- Self-Dimming Rearview Mirrors and Compass in Rearview Mirror
- Power Sunshade in Rear Window and Manual Sunshades on Rear Side Windows
- Home Link
- DVD Navigation with MMI
- CD Changer

Rear Side Airbags - $350

No-Charge Options
18" 5-spoke Wheels (19" wheels are standard equipment)
Sunroof Delete
Replace Carbon Fiber Trim with Aluminum, Piano Black or Dark Myrtle Nutmeg Wood

We know the first wave of cars, expected in June, will all be equipped with Navigation, so expect them all to have the Premium Package and cost upwards of $73K. After the first wave, more selection will be available.... expected around July or August.

the premium package is almost like a must have, so basically the car will start at 70k. pretty expensive for a car of that size. but then again we havent' seen the price of the new m3 yet

dunno, i don't like the look of the car

It should come loaded at 66k. To add 4k of must haves is ridiculous.

70k, lets seem, RWD bias AWD, more power than the last M5, great looks inside and out.

SOunds good to me.

Good to see they are trying to address the early cries of "overpriced". However the premium package is pretty much a standard deal so it is still overpriced. You can cheap out but why would you in this kind of car?

It really is too bad. I love the looks and power of the car. There are several cars that are very nice but their asking price is simply too steep for what you get. IMO this Audi falls in that category as does the STS-V.

One last comments regarding looks. It looks great with a euro plate. I think it looks goofy with a US or no front plate.

You probably saw S4's, not the RS4.

I'm with Mike on this one. 66k to leave things desired is just ridiculous. A very Mercedes-Benz type approach.

No doubt that this thing will be a BEAST though. M3 look out. I wonder where this is going to set the M3's pricerange at. And then I have to ask the question as to where the IS500's going to be priced at as well. I can't see a $65,000 IS.

well i thought mb, audi, and bmw they are all the same, everything is an option and some options are "standard", if you know what i mean

about the price, it's indeed very expensive, but not sure if it's overprised, at least not yet. this car will probably give the current e46 m3 a very good run for the money. we have no idea how much the next m3, with the v8 engine, is going to cost. that should be the car this rs4 be compared with imho
