Default Bugatti will up hp. to 1250 in limited edition Veyron(updated w/ video)

Bugatti may up horsepower

Just as Bugatti is increasing Veyron output from 50 to 70 cars annually at its plant in Molsheim, France, word is the Volkswagen-owned marque is already planning an even higher-performance version of the expensive two-seater.

With the first Veyron deliveries just getting started, Automotive News reports Bugatti president Thomas Bscher wants to up production to cut the 14- to 15-month waiting time for the car. At the same time plans are afoot to create an even more lim-ited-production Veyron for 2007 featuring an upgraded version of the 8.0-liter quad-turbocharged W16 engine that will produce 1250 hp, up from 987 hp. Sources say that should raise top speed from 252 mph to 275 mph.

Thank God they did that. The regular version was a little underpowered...

Happily, stopping distances become irrelevant because you won’t see the obstacle in the first place. By the time you know it was there, you’ll have gone through the windscreen, through the Pearly Gates and be half way across God’s breakfast table. - Jeremy Clarkson in review of Bugatti Veyron

I wonder if the driver will now end up in God's stomach instead.

haha indeed that's true. with that kind of speed, you probably don't have to worry about braking. your reaction time alone will kill you already before you start applying full force on brakes

power of this car is just insane, but even more surprisingly the f1 is still the pick for a lot of people

Not for me. I'm the opposite of those people. I am more of a modern day kinda car guy actually. The newer the better(not like the F1 is that old, but you understand what I mean. )

What is this one going to cost and how about tires that are good for the higher top speed.
I know they had problems getting the current ones to not blow.

I agree. Jettas, Passats, Beetles, Tourags and golfs are rusting on dealer lots but oh, we have a 1250 power car you will never buy. Oh and to hell with anything resembling quality

Silly. All they got to do is turn the boost on ONE of the FOUR damn turbos

Could this be the new Super Veyron during some testing?!?! Notice the extra side vent and the conventional manual transmission. Probably a weight reduction too. Out of control.

Nice find! Too bad the video doesn't show the car actually being driven.

That's an interesting test mule for sure, but how can those front side vents be functional when the engine is behind the driver?
