Should I Buy this Car
Its a 2003 Nissan 350z Touring Package. It has 23k miles on it. It is gun metal grey with tan leather interior. It has 18" rims. price is $14,500
Con - It has a salvage title. the guy says that it only had some finder damage when he got the car. i thought that the car had to be beat up perty bad in order for it to get a salvage title.
Question: Should i buy this car?
PS: help from someone who has already had a salvage title car would be appricated.

You have to remember too with a salvage title you can't carry full coverage on the car. Depending on how bad the damages were before you may/may not want it. Do they have pics of the damage? Also, as it was already suggested, take it to a body shop if you're considering buying it. I'd probably offer something more along the lines of 13K also, I've seen a few salvaged one go for prices more in that area. Problems the car may or may not have will be bad tranny (if manual) as some had recalls and tire feathering due to improper alignment I think it was.

From what I understand the 03s had a lot of little problems. I'd avoid one. I can only imagine more things going wrong if its been in a big enough wreck to incur a salvage title.

I would avoid early 350Z's just as a matter of principle........even without the additional body or chassis damage that this car may have, the suspension and wheel alignment settings on this car were a mess right from the factory. There have been numerous service bulletins and recalls from the factory trying different settings trying to find something that works and cures the constant tire feathering and excessive road noise, Nissan has gone so far as even replace tires free.

I know it's beating a dead horse... but avoid it. Save your loot and buy something not salvaged. It may SEEM like a good deal, but there may be a slew of problems down the road that come because of it being rebuilt. Remember, the car is only good ONCE. After you break it, it'll never ride quite the same. Creaks and groans are going to be more noticable than a fresh one...
