Pontiac ends production of the Current GTO

How sad. I know some people may not have cared for it's styling which I suspect is the reason for it's demise. It's still a sad day to see a historically famous moniker be revived and killed off in such a short period of time.
With the age of retro muscle cars of the 70's being brought back in style by Ford and Mopar, they could have jumped on the bandwagin with the next gen GTO.
I think Pontiac is blowing it by killing off the GTO altogether.
They also just killed off any additional aftermarket specialty products being planned for this car. Who's going to develop product for a car with only 25k of them in existence?
And they think their new Solstice will do better???

I don't like to see it go either, but GM announced in 2004 when it debuted that it would only have a 3-year production life. Ford said the same thing on the 2-seater T-Bird but gave it another year anyway.
Anyhow, it might be worth it if we ( FINALLY ) get a new Road Runner from Chrysler to take its place.....that is what I'm waiting for. They have come SO close with the R/T and Daytona Charger and the new Challenger...but no cigar.

I'm waiting for a revived Hemi Cuda myself.
