Talking IIHS says BMW causes greater right foot acceleration

This gave me a good "lol" moment.

I was checking out how the GX scored in tests conducted by the International Institute for Highway Safety when I noticed something interesting.

Everybody knows that BMW is associated with producing "drivers' cars" and giving excitement to the right foot by great acceleration. However, when crash results show this too, that causes a moment.

You will notice in the second table a rightmost column labeled "Foot Acceleration (g)"
This is a measure of how much force is applied to each foot during impact. For a reference, we will use the Lexus RX 330.

RX 330
Left Right
53 52

That is pretty even and respectable.
Lets look at the Mercedes M-Class

M-Class
Left Right
69 62

Slightly greater force, but still the left and right measurement are fairly similar.

Finally, the BMW X5

BMW X5
Left Right
51 146

You will notice that the right food has about 300% more force than the left foot and much more than any other car in the report. I guess it really is true the BMW drivers' right feet always apply more force, especially during accidents .
