Rumor has it that Lexus will increase production on the IS250/350...
I personally havent heard of anything, but it is what it is...discuss
The word on the street is that Lexus is increasing production of the IS250/350 by 4X. Right now most people have to wait a few months to get into a 350 and many people have to special order them which takes 3+ months. Sales for the IS350 are up 700% over the IS300 from this time last year.

Yup Mags, this is correct. I've been saying for awhile, production is just now ramping up.
Also a HUGE change is the IS is now built in Tahara, alongside the GS/SC and current LS. Welll the LS460 will be built in a BRAND NEW STATE OF THE ART PLANT, thus they can build more IS's.
Tahara is the worlds greatest auto plant. Curious to see how they will top it with the new LS 460 plant!
Remember everyone, a coupe is coming and possible special editions. We all know that Lexus simply makes hit after hit after hit and never misses twice in a row.

hmmm....I didnt hear/read about that. They are building a new plant specifically for the LS460?? Or its just going to be on its on line at the Tahara plant??

4x? Guys, I am all for Lexus outselling everything else, but raising IS sales to 200,000-300,000 per year means they would have to add coupe, convertible, long wheelbase, shortwheelbase, 5 different 4cly engines and 3 hybrids. In short, nope :-).
Now, I am sure Lexus is tweaking the production as they always do, but 4x is too much.

While I'm not surprised that they will increase production to meet the demand for the hot selling cars, I doubt it will be "4X " as the salesman said, probably an exaggeration . . .

wow that's nice. i agree with andrew that if it will jump to 4x right the way. it probably doesn't make sense and might back fire lexus a bit. maybe they will do double now, and then slowly go to triple, etc... that's better move.
and damn i really expect to see tons of 2is on the road soon.....
