I now want this car REALLY bad!
Interesting thing happened to me on Monday............
I was outside in the driveway of my house and I had just finished cleaning my car inside and out. As I was winding up the water hose I noticed a car coming down the street. I could tell it was moving pretty quick and it was a large car. To my amazement, it abruptly stops in front of my driveway. The windows were blacked out and I couldn't see in. So I'm wondering, "Who in the hell is in front of my driveway in a SRT-8 300C?!?!?!
After I turn towards the road and begin to walk down, the window rolls down and it's a young guy that looks to be about 20. He says, "That's a sweet ride man! You got that dropped on bags?" Of course I just have it slammed on coilovers on the stock chrome 17's. I thought it was pretty cool that this dude in a SRT-8 300C thought my GS was sweet. He wanted to look in my GS so I told him to pull up in the drive. He told me he used to own an IS and always loved the design of the GS. He really liked my GS and couldn't believe it was a '98.
So he let me take a look at his ride. It was brand new, still had the SRT tags on the seats. Paid $53K for it. He said he couldn't really get on it yet b/c it was still in the break in period and he had just had his first oil change. He had swapped the grill and had chrome window trim. He is going with a stereo and 22's and wants to go the DUB edition route. The ride itself was awesome. Charcoal metallic, great seats with suede, grey brembo's front and rear, and staggered 20's as well. I LOVED the car. It has such a presence. Anyway, the guy said his folks own a few mens urban clothings stores in some malls. Overall cool guy! I need to get in the mall game!

I was pretty impressed when i saw this car and sat in it at the Orlando car show a few months ago... The seats were so comfortable and just the styling alone looked fantastic IMO... If i was in different part of my life and money was no object than i would be all over that car... I think Dodge made a great car when they made the 300C... Now with 425 HP you can't go wrong... You don't even have to modify anything really...

There are about 3 of them at the Chrysler dealer down the street, really handsome and sharp bone stock! Too bad he's gonna "pimp" it with TIS 22's and diamond encrusted door plates lol

I have to agree with shock here. For the most part.
I don't think the car is crap, but I do believe the market for this car will fall out very soon and even models equipped with a Hemi will be on used car lots with asking prices at 30% of original MSRP.

Remember the craze with the Chrysler LH cars? The 300m, Dodge Intrepid, Chrysler LHS? They were ever so popular, and every one and there uncle had one. Now that car is crap, mechanical gremlin left and right, and they are cabs here in NYC. 300C is next. granted the motors are powerful, but thats it.

I agree about the market value part, but not the crap part. You are correct that in about 8 months you will be able to get a v6 300 for 8.99 with a 2 dollar off coupon , but the cars themselves have some good engineering in them. I think I remember hearing that the rear suspension and transmission were sourced from the w210 MB class. And of course the car on the whole benefits from MB design / platform infuence.
As I said on another thread, in 12-16 months when you can get a SRT for 35k THAT will be the time to go shopping
400 - just be patient,

sat in a 300C at the car show, didnt like it, looking through the windshield and rear window was like tunnel vision in a medieval knights helmet its so small same with the side windows. Its one of those cars that looks big on the outside but smaller than expected inside
