trade my 92 SC400 for 97 TEG GSR?
should i trade my 92 SC400 for a 97 integra GSR??? gas is a major concern to me. i wish i could keep my SC, but ever since i bought the car, gas have been killing me. i had an integra before my SC, and there is no comparison between an integra and SC, but i need a better fuel effeciency car..... SC are much better and nicer looking, but this GSR is well kept and low on gas.... what are your thoughts.

the GSR is a very good car. can be pretty quick basic bolt on. and gas is awesom. yea the sc isnt very nice on gas but then you got looks. is it straight up trade? if it is thats a good deal. 97 gsr probably run anywhere from 6-8k. but i perfect either the 95 or 98+. the 95 has the dual stage Vtec which is very sought after. the 98+ has the revised body and its very sleek.

Are you talking a straight trade or will you have to pay some $$ to get the other car?
Not that you're doing this - but I think it's kinda goofy when people trade in their "gas guzzler" for a hybrid or something to save money on gas. Umm...if the car itself is costing you extra money, how could you be saving money?
If you really want the Integra, go for it. Odds are you'll be beating on that car to get it moving...guess what, the mileage won't be that great unless you drive it like an old lady. What fun is that???

Is it your daily driver? I wouldn't give up a Lexus for a rebadged Civic. No offense to Civic owners, but an Integra isn't an SC
However, it does sound like you're more into the race/modding scene than luxury, so the trade probably wouldn't be a bad idea for you

Well, SC in some ways is a rebadged Supra. Me personally, I'd never trade SC400 (or SC300 for that matter) for GSR unless the SC had major mechanical problems and GSR was in pristine shape.

I had an Integra. They are great cars but even when you get 28MPG in that vs 20MPG in the SC...c'mon!! The Lexus is a much better Luxury Sport Coupe vs the Intera which is a sporty compact car.
Even if you got 10MPG more what's that in a year?
say 20,000 miles @ 20 MPG = 1000 gallons @ $2.50/gal = $2500/yr ($200/mo) for the Lex
20,000 mi @ 30 MPG = 667 gallons @ $2.50/gal = $1668/yr ($139/mo) for the Integra
So for 60 bucks a month you'd give up the SC.....
IMO you could save $60 by skipping 1 night going out to eat !!

My main concern with a move like this (other than the obvious lack in power) is the theft factor. Around these parts, the Integra is on the hot car list. My boy that has a Type R says that within the group of ITR owners he meets up with, someone is usally saying how their cars are getting broken into or stolen.
Not like that's any different with Lexus owners. Lord knows that we have our fair share of "broken into" threads, but if it is something you have to do because of a financial burden... then do what you must. If it's just for fun... Stay with the Lex. But the GSR is indeed a great pocket rocket, and a very reliable car.
Good luck with your decision!

The Civic and Integra are indeed related, in comparison. And don't get me wrong, I LOVE both these cars in that era.
The Intergra GSR is a blast to drive, if u drive it hard, gas savings will be minimal, someting to think about
