What say you? Old or new? There are 6 differences between the two bumpers.

This is the old one:

...and this is the new one:

New for sure. Looks more like the C5 now with that rounded bottom end.

On a sidenote, when is that puppy gonna get dropped?

Vettes really don't get dropped. The suspension is great, but has room for improvement. The drop may come as an effect of adding the new shocks and springs, but it will not go more than 1 inch lower than it is right now. Ride height is critical to the Vette's abiliy to stick the corner and recover if needed, so going down like my BMW is not an option. I do wish it were lower, but this car will not be compromised in performance like I did for the BMW. The lower I go with the Vette, the less chance it has of recovering if it breaks loose.

New is less aggressive, but cleaner looking.

I like the old cover with the older C4s - newer covers with the newer C4s. Not sure why people go through all the trouble w/ trying to make their '84 Corvette look like a 94.

Looks like you got the newer style 17" wheels too. All you need now is the panel that has the horizontal gills behind the front wheel to complete the look.

The install and color match looks good though!

Why do you comb your hair?

I have heard that "newer on newer, older on older" line before and it makes no sense. It's the same body style, either you like it or you don't. So either you like the newer body, or you like the older body. Since I don't own an 84, and the bumper isn't a 94 style, I can't even respond to that. You're gonna have to at least hit close to the original question here so I can take your vote into account.

This car came as it sit's BTW, just this bumper is my only change.

It was just my opinion. I like both styles of C4s - 84-91 & 92-96. The old bumper was the same from 84-91 and the 92-96 bumpers were the same (except the ZR-1).. I just mentioned arbitrary years as it's near-impossible to determine the exact year of a C4 Corvette at a glance.

I voted for the old style because it fits the look of the car better... with the black moulding going around the entire car, the new style bumper (and newer C4s) doesn't have have that.. so it doesn't flow as nicely IMHO.

the new bumper is waaay cleaner.looks much better. that mod would be a no brainer for me.

it's funny you say vettes don't get dropped. I've been noticing on the brand new vettes, when you look at the wheel gaps they look kinda big, but when you look at the height of the car it still looks pretty low. so I figure they need that wheel gap for adequate suspension travel.

Based on looks alone, IMO the new one wins by a mile....but neither one ( and also on the new C6 I drove the other day ) looks like it will give the rear tailights or anything else in the back much protection in a low-speed impact.....and fiberglass can be expensive to repair.

Unless you are doing a "restoration", that new bumper looks much better. I might consider painting out the CORVETTE (I assume it's embossed into the shell) to clean up the appearance. Very, very nice!

New one by far, I always like the 92-96 bumper and front end.

That brings me to asking, when are you swapping the front bumper?

B hands down the newer one is better. The tail lights look a thousand times better. I was never a fan of the round tailights. Not to mention the color matched strip on the body. IMAO. also the roundness of it flows better with the look of the entire car. I don't like how the old bumper juts inwards of the body then back out. Strange to me.
