Spy Shots: 2007 Lexus RX350 or RX450h?

the RX350 is coming in May 2006
my guess is that they are putting the GS hybrid system in this car to get more power with the refresh since this is a hybrid (look at front bumper)
or maybe the refreshed RX is getting the hybrid grill, but i doubt it since lexus wants the hybrid to stand out more

it is definently the hybrid though...look at the front bumper
also...an interesting note is that they are two different prototypes pictured...look closely at the taping and gas tank

Well these pics arent showing me much. Interested to see what they will do with the RXhybrid. But I dont think they will change it to a 450h. Maybe add a little more power to the 400h, but I doubt that as well.
What I hear about the Camry is that its going to be 4 cylinder based(2.4L I-4), not 6 cylinder(3.3L, 3.5L)

Only reason for RX to have version without direct injection is because it can not be much more expensive than current version. Economies of scale apply to any GR engine, even more so to direct injection version which is currently built in smaller numbers.
I.E. They will save money by using both GR series engines. And, much more RX's were made with V6 than Camry's, so in fact it was Camry who was using Lexus's V6 engine :-).
Of course, RX could not use GS450h's system, because that system is based on RWD configurtation, its first RWD hybrid system :-).
As to the RX350 with camo looking similar to RX400h, well some subtle updates to RX400h will probably be carried over to RX350.

Lexus said that all their vehicles will get direct injection systems upon engine change or model change... so expect it to (probably) be the 2GR-FSE but downtuned to (hopefully) flatline the torque curve (likely at the loss of peak HP)... that would be cool =P

Well I hope they tune the 3.5 V6 for the RX to significantly improve fuel efficiency when compared to the 3.3 V6. It doesn't need to have 300 hp or even 280 hp. Some where between 255-275 should be more then enough.
