Default Restyled Porsche Cayenne (official pics pg. 5)

by Brian Potter & Przemek Lis
08-04-2005

Look for debut at Detroit or Geneva in 2006. The exterior front end sheet metal gets a complete makeover in order to comply with new EU pedestrian crash laws. In these photos peering through the front bumper outer grille openings appears to be some sort of vertical signal lamp although the front bumper fascia seems to be a mix between the Turbo and S model. Partially covered, the headlamps get a new sleek shape and the rear tailamps get slightly shortened. The rear bumper fascia gets a restyling with cleaner integration of the exhaust pipes. Photos show both dual tip and single tip exhaust. Also expect the base 3.2 liter V6 to get upgraded with the new narrow-angle 280hp 3.6L Passat VR6 engine.

My girlfriend picked me up in one of these from the airport this morning (current style, got it as a loaner from the Porsche dealer while her 911 is getting worked on). Pretty nice!

Of course it isn't the cool turbo version

I'm not sure we know the shape of these new headlights yet . . .

Yea they're covered. But if they do give it some sort of angle down shaped I would like them better. Makes it real mean looking. The exhuast looks better. Taillamps need to be changed... I never liked the tails on the Cayenne. This and the RX400h are the only SUVs I would ever really consider. Maybe the FX45 too.
The pricing on all of these are very widespread but if money isn't an option I'd get this new Cayenne Turbo.
