Mercedes 500SL, Lexus SC 430, or BMW 645 conv?
If you could, which one of the three would you own, and why?
For me, I would choose the 500SL. All three vehicles are powerful, all three are tremendously luxurious. But the 500SL looks absolutely stunning. 9.5/10. (the AMG vehicles get 10).
My second choice is the SC 430. Classy. 9/10.
My third choice is the 645. I recognize that it's a great vehicle, but it's looks just don't appeal to me. Without Bangle = 10/10. With Bangle = 8.5/10.

I think the SC430 is just too 'soft' compared to the german competitors...no straight edges.
And although I love the SL, there's just too many of them running around, so I feel that the 645ci is a better handling car, a little faster, and slightly less common.

SL for sure....SC430 is not even in the same group. I am not saying it is inferior, but it just is not aimed at the same buyers of the SL and 6 series. I hate the soft top 6 series convertible, you need the retractable.
If I ever go back and get a Mercedes, I will probably get one of the new SL's in another year to 18 months. They are crazy expensive right now...you will not find one for under $60k. Meanwhile, you can find a 2002 SL with the same mileage for half that. In another year, those new SL's will be at $50k easy, a good price to buy. Let someone else take the depreciation hit for now.

The 500SL is the best-looking on the outside and the SC430 has the best interior. I wouldn't actually buy any of these three, though....all three, IMO, cost too much, and only the Lexus is reliable..
