We win we win! Lexus tops the charts.
Not sure if anyone has seen this (jd power dependability study for all car manufacturers), but I came across it again when I was sorting my bookmarks, just thought i'd share.

Great job to Lexus. Although 'we win we win' may be a bit too ecstatic for me...it's the 'relentless pursuit of perfection' that counts, and it is ever ongoing. May Lexus and its competitors continue to set higher and higher standards.

1. Automobiles have been getting better and better over the years. Engine efficiency is up, build quality is higher than ever, the technology to build to exacting quality standards is better than ever before. Cars can be better built than ever before--which is not to say that they are (in this age of cost-cutting), but overall quality complaints have gone down; an industry trend shows this (JD Power).
2. Since its debut, and in the history of automobiles, no car manufacturer has attained as many quality awards and customer satisfaction top ratings than Lexus. This is apparent in surveys taken in practically every market Lexus automobiles have been sold, including the US, Canada, England, Australia, Korea, Taiwan...furthermore, Lexus has done this year after year (JD Power, Consumer Reports, others...)
3. Lexus production standards, including manufacturing to body tolerances with thousands of cm/mm, with the industry-leading Tahara plant, are second to none. (JD Power)
Which can lead to the conclusion: Lexus is simply the best built car in the history of the automobile.

I agree with many of the Lexus comments here...............and I would give out some awards of my own:
LEXUS.....best in overall quality. Best in customer satisfaction.
SUBARU.....best inexpensive AWD. (Overall quality almost in Toyota / Lexus range)
HYUNDAI / KIA ( tie ).....best value for the money. Also most improved.
TOYOTA / HONDA ( tie ).....most forward-looking / best-prepared for the future
PORSCHE.....best overall sports cars ( though I am not a big Porsche fan, for several reasons)

BIG shocker for me on Cadillac Buick & Lincoln. I would think they wouldn't be too reliable. Why is Infiniti so high but Nissan is so low?
Also, I'm a little surprised that Lexus still stayed on top with the 2002 ES300's having so many brake problems.
