Default The best three near-lux sports sedan?

Please tell me what your favorite near-luxury sports sedans are?

My current favortie ones are Acura TL and Infiniti G35 sedan and the new BMW 330i.

But after the new Lexus IS350 came out, I think TL woud drop to the fourth.

Can you really rate a car that's not in the market yet? lol

Here are the middle of the road ones I love... not including the "super car" version of it

BMW 540i (last gen), Mercedes E 500, Audi RS6 ... Ok... I guess the Audi is the 'super car' version of the A6 =P

EDIT: Didn't read NEAR LUXURY

Subaru WRX STi, Audi RS6, um... I guess M45

Guys, near-lux sports sedans are the following:

Acura TSX, TL
Lexus IS
Infiniti G35
BMW 3-series
MB C-class
Jaguar X-type
Audi A4
Volvo S40, S60
Saab 9-3
Cadillac CTS
Lincoln LS
Chrysler 300

One or two may not be on everyone's list, and some may add one or two others, but that's what most consider the "near-lux sports sedan" list. GS, RL, M are all luxury/mid-size lux.

Wouldn't a BMW 3 series and GS3 be considered lux?

I say... Subaru Legacy 2.5GT

i would also add the infiniti I35(even though it is likely to be phased out soon) and the lexus ES330.

mine would be

BMW 330i
infiniti G35
and i guess the TL... the new IS should be here though i guess...

No, because the I35 and ES330 are not "sports sedans," and also the I35 no longer exists as of MY06.

The TL is definitely not a Sports Sedan with FWD. It's a Accord made into a sporty Sedan.

The G35 is a real performance sedan with the BMW 330 and IS300. The new IS350 has yet to be proven, so lets see how it does.

I would agree with this list....and would add the Subaru Legacy Turbo GT sedan or wagon. Even though Subaru is not normally considered a " Luxury " nameplate, the new Legacy GT not only has standard AWD and more standard HP/ torque that several of the cars on the above list but also (trust me) a Lexus-grade interior, assembly quality, and fit-and-finish for an under-30K price.

I have seen and driven this car and would rather have it than anything on the above list except perhaps the new AWD IS.

Just because a car is FWD does not mean it cannot be a sports sedan or a sports coupe. The TSX and TL will outhandle and outperform many cars that are not FWD. RWD does not automatically mean it is a sports sedan or sports coupe. To me it depends on how the chasis and suspension are tuned, how much feedback the car gives to the driver and if it inspires to take corners, look of the car, interior environment and layout, support of seats, etc. FWD may not be the optimum layout to most people for sports sedans but it does not exclude a vehicle. My favorite would be
1)E46 3 series-overpriced and not very reliable but pretty much as perfect as an entry level sports sedan can be. New ones interior is enough to turn me off from considering.
2)IS350- Unless it really disappoints in the handling department which I doubt it will.
3)Acura TSX, TL.-handles very well with great interiors. TSX extremely nimble, one of the best 6 speeds ever but could use a little more hp like 220-235.
-Not a big fan of the G35 sedan but I do love the looks of a G35 coupe, especially in black with the spoiler.
