Toyota Alphard or Honda Elysion???
The dealer dropped off 2 vans for us to test drive today. I only had enough batter to take pictures of the first van, the Honda Elysion, and not the 2nd one which is the Toyota Alphard. They are both considered large-sized luxury family sedan. Both came with full car theater (2 TVs, 12 speakers, DVD changer, etc), reverse rearview camera, blackwood steering wheel and panels, leather, adjustable reclinable 2-row and 3-row seats, and 3000cc engine (brand new vtec engine in the Honda and the same 3.0L engine as the camry in the Toyota.
What a beautiful base to start a VIP project van!!!!!!!!!!!
Funky 3D illumination speedo...
And here's a picture of the Toyota Alphard that I found on the web....
Naturally, the Toyota Alphard is almost 30-40% bigger in every direction compared to the Honda Elysion and the whole family is really leaning towards the Toyota.....naturally, we will only get it in black on black, of course....

EV ftw!!!
All you need is to slap on a set of 26's on the Toyota and it will be set!
I prefer the overall look of the Honda to the Toyota.

I don't know too much about either of these vans, but based on the looks of the interior and exterior, I would choose the Honda. The Toyota looks like a big Scion xB. If you can't live with the interior space of the Honda and really need that space that you say the Toyota provides, get the Toyota.

We don't get cool vans like that. We get the watered down exclusively made in America for Americans minivan.

It was fun being in Thailand last Fall, and seeing all the cars we don't get here in the U.S. Honda has some nice stuff!?!
One small Honda in particular, which I though looked pretty decent and would do well in the U.S. is the Honda City. Maybe we have the Civic instead.

The Toyota is CAVERNOUS! I think the blinds and the full size plate glass windows ( ) make it look like a house! If you guys really need the size of that thing and if the 3L engine will get it out of its own way, then get the Toyota. The Honda looks more sporty and aggressive. I say depending on the interior of the Honda, i.e. if its sub-par, get the Toyota.

LOL we have a joke here about the toyota and we call it the ALPHARDment (a sub-pun on the word "apartment") to reflect on its HUGE HUGE interior size. I mean, the full option comes with fridge, full suicide 2nd row seats, full curtains, tvs, dvds, etc.
By the way, the Honda City in Thailand is a whole class under the Civic. In Asia, even the Civics are too expensive for most people here (my 2-yr old civic hatchback for example is bought USED for over $20k), so Honda Asia built cheaper cars like the Honda Fit/Jazz and the Honda City and they are hugely popular here. But they only come with 1.3L and 1.5L engine and I think they would be way underpowered for American highways.....
By the way, it looks like we might be getting the Alphard. These 2 vans have nothing "mini" about them!
