I liked the old one to me, but they had to align this car more closly to the new Caddys, ie stacked headlights. Interior looks okay, nothing we haven't seen before.

I definitely like the new car better more than the 2000-2005 model.

I've always loved Cadillac's trademark long retangularish taillights and I am glad that Cadillac is designing its cars to resemble the older, classic models again.

I'm glad they kept the fairly high-profile tires for a decent ride. This car is not supposed to be a sport sedan.....it is a cruiser.
The front end looks nice.....can't complain about the stacked headlights. Somehow I think they look better on this car (perhaps because they are lower) than on the CTS and the new STS.
Interior-wise, the wood paneling, at least in these pictures looks better, IMO, on the old car....it is a richer and warmer color and texture. The white leather on the new steering wheel also looks cheap and poorly stitched IMO.
Overall I'll take the new exterior and the old interior.

Aww crap, me too Especially black ones in DTS form. I thought they really fit Caddys image, soft and big. Me likey. To me, it was built to be and look like a Caddy. And the interior was always fine to me.

Ugly in and out. I think the best looking Caddy is the Escalade, its exterior anyway.

Back on topic, I drove my in-laws many DeVilles (aka DTS) and they were nice and got better with each version (they got a new one every 3 years). Since my father-in-law died a year ago my mother downsized to a CTS (which she likes). The DTS will no doubt be a VERY comfortable ride and will still have a huge trunk good enough for four golf bags, which is why it is HUGELY popular in Florida golf areas like Naples.

People, the MY06 redesigned DTS will be FWD as it has been since the mid-80's. It'll be redesigned in 2010 at which point Cadillac will have to make a big decision as to their direction.

Personally, I feel they should keep the $50k-range FWD land barge old fogey cruiser for the American masses that like soft Cadillac rides. They are the ones that kept Cadillac alive and breathing for the last twenty years, and I don't see it right that they should be left behind now that Cadillac is reinventing itself. The company is big enough to sport many different images, including the "urban" crowd with the Escalade (which I think would make more sense as an ERX, considering they got rid of the Deville nameplate), the Florida senior citizen crowd with the Deville/DTS, and the BMW-chasing crowd with everything else. If they want to make a 7-series fighter, they should, but I don't think it'd be just or even financially prudent to leave such a large crowd to mass migrate to Lincoln Town Cars...
