mouse in the car
have a big problem:
have a mouse that is in my wife's infiniti. must have gotten there sometime in the last two days.
last time she drove her car was thursday day. when she went to drive to work friday morning, she
notice mini-turds along the dash. i bought two mouse traps and set one in the trunk and one
in the back seat on the floor. i sprinkled doritos around the traps. this morning, the doritos were
still all around the one in the trunk, but the doritos in the back seat were all gone, and it didn't
take the bait. today, i'm trying peanut butter solely on the traps, and pulled the trap that was in
the trunk, and putting it in the front on the floor (i'm assuming it wasn't in the trunk since the food
wasn't eaten).
anyone have any advice on this. i've tried doing some google searches. not too too much info, but
i did come across some interesting tidbits, and i don't know if they're true. one was saying that
regardless of the mouse being caught, now that the scent is in the car, it's only gonna attract more mice.
also, there are suggestions of setting mouse traps in the garage. i've never seen mice in the garage
before. would this still be something i should do? finally, i read that there may be babies, and that
air filters, etc are gonna need to be checked out. don't know if/when i should involve pest control
people, or bring car to the dealer, or what.
thanks for your help and feedback.

alotta times little rodents crawl up into the intake and sleep and eat food in there. THink about it, its very dry and warm in there, perfect for little rodents to crawl in there and sleep and that kinda thing. Open up your intake housing and see if there's any Dog food, or something like that in there, if there is, it would prove that the mouse lives in the garage... assuming that you park your car in the garage.
As for your current situation... instead of using the spring loaded mouse traps, why dont you get some of that sticky stuff. It's like this sticky padding that you buy and you put food in there and they'll run in and get stuck and die. kinda slow painful death i suppose which sucks for the mouse. oh and dont use doritos, try to use something that gives off a lot more aroma. Maybe hot dogs? maybe a small cubic centimeter of hot dog or something. Cook it so it smells even better. leave it in the car over night and see what happens.
getting into the car... if you pop open your hood and look towards the firewall underneath the power steering unit, there's usually a small black plug. I know that in installing amps and that kinda stuff, i usually use tha hole to run power wires through there. Maybe the plug came off and the mouse crawled through there. I can't think of any other way it could get in there. hmm there's usually a drainage plug at the bottom of your spare tire well but i doubt mice can hop up that high and crawl through that hole lol. yeah, sorry dogg, cant think of any other way.
Good luck

Out of Warranty
The organic solution:
I'm thinking a Corporeal, Autonomous, Attack and Alimentation Tool is needed here.... Preferably one color coordinated with your upholstery to conceal the inevitable buildup of protein strands as the device loses insulation in warm weather. Prior to installation, withhold fuel for 24 hours to ensure efficiency. Park your car in a cool, shady place, close windows and install CAAAT. You can expect results within 2 to 3 hours.
