Default What's the rarest model ever produced?

Does anyone know what's the rarest model that Lexus' ever produced?

I see a lot of LS400/430s as well as ES300/330s on the roads most of the time. The RX300/330s are also crawling all over the place. GS400/300s are not that far behind as well.

However, I don't really see a lot of LX, GX and SC models on the road. Does anyone know what's the percentage of number of these models in comparison to the more popular models? Are the LX and GX rarer than the SCs?

Thanks in advance.

Jon

off the top of my head probably 97 SC300 5spd, and to ice the cake, in the color RSP with black interior!! LOL

The rarest models will probably the last year of the design cycle models, like a 97 GS, 2000 LS, etc etc.

If you mean the rarest concept, it has to be the candy-apple red Lexus Street Rod that was built for the show circut several years ago. Only one was built that I know of. It was intended to compete with the Plymouth Prowler, but with much more authentic '50s styling, the 4.3L Lexus V8 rather than the Prowler's V6, and, of course, much higher quality.
If you mean the rarest actual production vehicle, probably the IS300 SportCross. Not many were sold at all. Also, SC 5-speeds were relatively hard to find, too.

Wink Interesting topic

I would have to say the Lexus Coach Edition model for the 1996 ES300 is a pretty rare production vehicle to see these days. I'm glad to have had the privilege of owning one for many years For those who don't know, the Coach Edition model for the 1st-gen ES comes with Coach-trimmed and perforated seats, 2 Coach bags, Coach Edition floormats, special wheels, extra wood trim, and black pearl emblems. Click the link on my sig for pictures of the Coach Edition ES.

Yes, for the model years 1990 and 1991. Surprisingly I still see a few of those on the roads here

My brother in law has an ES250. He moved to FL and drove it from Vegas to FL with no problems.

People hate on the ES250, but it was a great car. Ours is still running with no problems.

Anyway, I think the rarest Lexus models would have to be those with manuals.

So in addition to the SC and ES3, I'm guessing an ES250 w/5-speed and cloth interior would be exceptionally rare.

A US spec '92 SC300 5 spd with cloth interior and no sunroof. I saw some pics of one in Canada on this forum awhile back. To my knowledge, it may be the only one. You almost never see a Lexus with cloth interior. Add to that the 5 spd, and your talking rarity.

BTW, I still see a white ES 250 when I go to the grocery store. Must belong to an employee. Still looks good, too.

5 speed SC3's seem to be popping up all over the place. When i was looking to buy one back in the day (3 years ago) there were only 3 for sale in the whole nation.... one happened to be local..

Anyways, i think that the 1st gen ES with the 5 speed is the rarest production car... I only know of one guy who has one and its because of this forum.

Yeah, a Lexus with cloth is extremely rare. My ES250 has cloth (same cloth found in the Supra of that year), and it's the only Lexus with cloth I've seen. Even the other ES250s I've seen have leather.

When we were buying our GS, we enquired about cloth because my mom especially prefers cloth to leather, but they told us it would be a special order/6-month wait! Needless to say, we took the leather.

You are all wrong. I thought the IS200 not sold in the U.S, but take a look at

Check out the Lexus Estima, which is a rebadged Toyota Estima minivan.

See our clublexus link at https://www.clublexus.com/forums/sho...ghlight=estima
