Exclamation Drive across Canada! Winter tires needed yet?

Hey all,

I'm planning a move/trip from Montreal to Calgary in the next couple of weeks. I've hear of 1-2 snowfalls in the past week or so but it's either minor or not on route.

Can I get some feedback from some other Canadians? Will I need winters? I'm currently on all seasons and if I put on winters I'll have to ditch my summers somewhere as I'll have no space for them. Ideally id like to leave the all seasons on.

I plan to go...

Montreal
North bay
Hearst
Thunder Bay
Winnipeg
Moose Jaw
Calgary

I'm staying in Canada as its a move, don't want to have a hassle at the border with a car full of stuff.

Any feedback from these various locations or anywhere in between would be great!

Cheers

It's Canada, It's October, might as well put the snows on now.

I'm leaning towards the same, but I then have to leave my summer tires here as I'll have no space to bring them. Will be impossible to sell now and if I do end up with the winters option ill start shopping!

Getting the summers/rims to Calgary is another story

That. I did the move from Edmonton to Toronto in january one year, tracked 3 snowstorms and -47 degrees. Without winter tires,I would have never even tried.

Ended up making it about a month ago, went really well. Got a bit of snow by Regina and slept the night and it was fine. Just took my time.
